Peter Currey
Grateful for any observations. I installed an AR620 Rx in a glider. The Rx binds to my DX8, with no obvious problem. With all channels hooked up, all surface controls work correctly but the throttle function will not operate! I have tried another Rx in line and throttle responds correctly! Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else had the same problem?
dan h
Hi peter.I had the same thing last week with my ar620. All i did was unplug the lipo then plug it back in and it worked fine. i then set the failsafe.Dan
Colin Carpenter
If you have glider selected rather than plane on TX , does throttle work ? Seem to remember it's different cos glider guiders use stick for crow ! Colin
Peter Currey
Thank you Dan and Colin, I have tried that Dan, no effect I'm sorry to say. I do have plane selected Colin. I always do with my gliders as the are they are electric powered for flat-field soaring. Thanks for the suggestions though - I'm willing to try anything. It's not doing my impression of the AR620 much good!
Denis Watkins
Peter, without the prop on Just a double check, put the DX8 into Monitor, and just see what the throttle movement is doing
dan h
Ah ok.Out of interest what port have you plugged the esc into?
flyeruk
I had the same problem when i fitted to my Radian Pro.Couldnt figure it out.Plugged the esc into the data port,it now works perfectly.
Peter Currey
Thanks everyone. Results as follows; Denis - I can confirm that the throttle showed as moving normally and responding to 'throttle hold', as normal. Daniel - I have it in the port next to the Data port - the one shown in the User Guide as Battery port. flyeruk - Ureka! Plugged it into the Data Port and it appears to work perfectly! Why? Why? Why? I have to say that I'm never happy doing things like that, going against manufacturers instruction. If the two of us have had the same problem, there must be others. I wonder if Horizon are aware? Thanks again. Edited By Peter Currey on 02/02/2019 19:21:24 Edited By Peter Currey on 02/02/2019 19:22:

Denis Watkins
Check channel order AETR? Of the Rx, Is it the same as the Tx or Something else Aileron, Elevator, Throttle, Rudder
GrahamWh
Peter could it be that the Battery port has no signal connection on the PCB - just -ve and +ve, and the ESC of course needs signal connection too?

dan h
Yes to be honest i wondered if peter may have plugged the esc into the batt port. Thats y i asked what port he was using for his esc. From what ive read the batt port is used for another battery for aircraft that use a high current draw. Has any1 else heard this?

Peter Currey
Posted by Denis Watkins on 02/02/2019 21:00:43: Check channel order AETR? Of the Rx, Is it the same as the Tx or Something else Aileron, Elevator, Throttle, Rudder Hi Denis. Back on the case! Channel order of the Rx is ; Battery: 1= Servo port/DATA ; 2 = Aileron: 3 = Elev 4 = Rudder: 5 = ?: 6 = Flaps

I suppose it could be Graham. All ports have three pins. I haven't checked further.

Denis Watkins
5 and 6, are usually Switches, hence Gear and Flaps The missing throttle should be 1 if 2,3, and 4 are AER As you say, check 1 for connection to signal In the instructions I can see binding can take two forms that could confuse the issue The Throttle has a Safe setting that can leave the Throttle OFF Edited By Denis Watkins on 03/02/2019 15:20:
Peter Currey
Hi again everyone. I have added comments and answers to each of you posts that I had not previously answered. It never ceases to amaze me (although I do not post very often and then, usually with a problem) how the experience of others starts to flow and invariably helps find a solution. Many thanks for your timed help.
Peter Currey
All points noted Denis. Thank you. I have tried binding both ways and cannot discern any difference! I checked the throttle Safe setting and it is working OK. So throttle is ON and OFF, only as arranged. Thanks again for the thoughts.
