Heavy Duty Cord Spring Locks / Toggles??
Colin Carpenter replied to Witterings's topic in All Things Model Flying
Loved my WotsWot from Ripmax. Lipo installation ok but had an isolator fitted so no fingers lost b4 startup. Changed it for a Sebart Miss Wind cos I love a Sebbie and the c/f wing joiners are delightful ! Unscrewing the hatch is a different story so isolator fitted as usual ! Colin -
Nice work Nick. Great to see you and chat at Horningsham last Sunday. Colin

Iβve had a stroke at age44 last week!
Colin Carpenter replied to MattyB's topic in Why Not Say Hello....
Well done Matty ! Now up Clapham Long Pond early 70s us power boaters would have called that a target !!π₯΄π₯΄πππ -
Might be worth a look at RCGroups. May be a known fault with this tx as there was with the DX8 in the early days !!!

4750 flights on my Dx9. Only 1 hiccup years ago on DSM2 using Orange Rx in an Easyglider. Easily the most reliable tx since I started in 69 on McGregor ππ

Spektrum transmitter going to full throttle ?
Colin Carpenter replied to Rocker's topic in Spektrum/JR
Sounds like Rx to me ! No throttle hold set ? -
I taught myself to fly on a Morley Hughes 300 in 1984. No Bell Hiller mixing and 4ch ganged throttle and cyclic. It was impossible for months especially as I couldnβt hack the servo response delay. Managed the tail less gyro not too bad. The mixing head bit made a massive change to getting the hang of it. Morley gyro was an eye opener. Worked in Bath where Maurice Tait assembled the kit and soon a club was formed where self help became the norm. I donβt own a drone helicopter but have flown the small ones indoors. Seem ok and non chopper flyers pick up the basics on them quickly Colin

I have the FMS Avanti earlier version on 4s. Standard Sebart blue /red/white scheme. Flys a dream but needs high C lipos and a dry grass strip otherwise wonβt get off. Landings are straightforward ! Unfortunately because I go out at 9 am when grass is always wet itβs been in its box for last few years. πππColin

Colin Carpenter replied to MattyB's topic in Why Not Say Hello....
Weβve spoken on here b4 ED. Remember Les and his A40 !!ππYes no love lost up there between yachts and power. Especially in winter when they ended at 4 so no light left for us noisy boaters. Strong language if they went over by a minute. π±π±π₯΄π₯΄Canβt believe Iβm still playing with the toys after 55 years π΅βπ«π΅βπ«Iβve still got a Fisher Redshift 60 in cupboard. Worn out but still magnificent !β€οΈβ€οΈ -

Well done Matty ! Hope recovery continues. Used to watch the vane yachts at Clapham Long Pond 69 ish. Never found it interesting as screaming round the pond with an HP 40 powered flattie but that was hundreds of yrs ago π¨βπ¦³π¨βπ¦³π¨βπ¦³ππππColin -

Rescuing over-discharged LiPo?
Colin Carpenter replied to Jolly Roger's topic in Gadgets and Electronics
Iβve just brought back to life a 3s by charging as a nicad for 5 mins. I discharged it via halogen bulb and lost sight of what I was doing !π₯΄π±π±Seems to be holding storage but will try a short flight very warily. It too was fairly new !π«π«π«π« -
Peter. I look at that aircraft longingly on Bondaero , which is where the Axiome came from. Unfortunately the price and site aggravation stops me in my tracks. Mrs would go berserk too ππβ€οΈThe Miss Wind came from Bude secondhand and was a long day out. How I got it into a Fiesta is still a miracle. It needed work. Iβm looking for an Angel 30 as I bunted into hedge line after 4 months winter lay off last yr π«π« I bought ur book ππRegards Colin

No Peter. I just like F3A style flying and bipes. My patch is quite unsuited to actually flying a pattern as itβs small and we have local problems with overflying ! Still enjoy the style tho. Canβt make my mind up between Axiome and Miss Wind ? I only use them about 10 times a year as they need space of course. Colin

Mine had the same years ago after a ding. Put a cf strip in a cut in foam with Foam2 Foam glue then cramped up with thin strips of wood either side. Worked πColin
