Neil James
Hi. I’ve inherited a Galaxy Models Mystic with a webra .90 but as glow fuel is almost impossible to get here I’d like to convert it to petrol. Obviously tank and tubing will need to be replaced so it would be very helpful to get a photo of the plan of the nose section to help me decide which is the best bit of structure to cut out to get access to the tank. bert baker
I have a Mystic with a NGH 25 petrol in it,, superb to fly, if memory serves me right they recommended sheeting the tail feathers if put large engines in,,, mine isn’t and so far no issues
Bob Cotsford
Mine had a hatch in the underside of the nose between the front formers, it also had another hatch under the tail so I guess that a previous owner hads found it needed tail weight when running a petrol motor in it. I used an OS 120 Surpass and it went quite nicely, not overpowered by any means. The tailplane was sheeted too iirc.
Paul C.
This is not a scale plan but shows how everything is put together, shows a hatch at the bottom of the tank bay. Should be the easiest way to get to the tank above is foam veneered covered . I have a photo of the C of G and throws, will post them next . Cheers, Paul. Neil James
Thanks everyone, that's very helpful. I can cut with confidence now. I'm planning to fit an NGH petrol engine to it so good to know it's a suitable choice. I've had 3 Magicians and a Wizard over the years and I know how well they fly, including this one (now 20 years old) as it used to belong to a close friend, now sadly no longer with us, so I'm looking forward to seeing it fly again. I'm also definitely thinking that it's time I bought another Magician and fitted an electric motor!
