  1. Are you sure your problem is within the the cylinder head / valve area and not blow by past the piston ring / liner. The crankcase has a breather and it may be worth checking for excessive crankcase pressure before taking any drastic action on the head, a stuck piston ring especially if engine has been laid up for any length of time could be an easy fix. Best of luck 🤞
  2. Bit unexpected to get an email from the BMFA to inform e that my Flyer ID is invalid and that I need to take a test 😱 . Bearing in mind I have not looked at the legislation since it first appeared a number of years ago ( I know I should be keeping up to date on these things but life gets in the way) I thought that I would dive straight in and follow the link to the test. The majority of the questions are common sense answers the only problems I had (if you can call it that) was with the multiple answers, don't overthink it 🤣. I passed and now have my certificate that was emailed to me along with a list of all the questions, my answers and highlighted correct and incorrect answers. I just realised that if you do not get the pass just go back and do it again (you have all the answers) so nothing to get stressed over. Paul.
  3. Sad news, I have built a number of Peters designs over the years and they all flew very well and straightforward to build. He has certainly left a legacy of excellent designs behind and a very nice chap as well, will miss his posts on the forum .
  4. Hi Ernie, try using a jewelers saw they have a very fine blade that doesn't snag and doesn't crush the tube. Got mine from Amazon and it came with a packet full of spare blades. Hope this helps, Paul
  5. In the current economic climate I wonder if the BMFA should consider giving members to option for digital copies of the BMFA news letter, save on paper and postage as the majority of the known univers has email these days . Just a thought, Paul
  6. I have been using Hobbyking film for a while now and never had a problem removing the backing, solarfilm was always a problem for me that and the price led me to hobbyking. When I had my first of many rolls of hobbyking film (solid colours only) I started using a disc cutter rather than scissors and I am wondering if this I why I have escaped the backing problem may be the disc helps separate the film as it cuts can't think of any other reason. Paul.
  7. I did try Chrome as well but that was not working too well, although it was better than IE.
  8. I had problems with IE just didn't work well at all, changed to Edge and it's now working much better. Give it a try . Paul.
  9. Hi Ron, let me know how much and how's best to pay you ? presume pay pal . Much appreciated, Paul.
  10. Hi Ron, count me in for 20m if you are doing another order please . Missed the boat on the first order, worked out how to follow threads now ?? Cheers, Paul.
