Jon H
Posted by Nigel R on 21/06/2019 09:28:28: Jon, some cyclists are indeed idiots. As are some car drivers. You can't prevent people from being stupid, sadly. Well, the darwin awards do thin the herd a little when it comes to stupidity. But that is usually people being really stupid and doing things like handstands on cliff edges or posing with a live grenade with no pin and frankly, well, what did they expect to happen? As for the usual road going stupidity of the populous as a whole no, you cant stop it sadly even though to me self preservation alone should be sufficient motivation to not drive like a halfwit. Dwain Dibley.
It's on page 4 doc, ......... I just put it in the order of vulnerability. When I walk to the shops, I look out for cars as I cross the road, as that is common sense. D.D.

Doc, in all fairness, do you really mean that. A good argument is one thing, complete with unnecessary insults as required, but as one cynic to another, you don't mean that. Don Fry
Yes, I would argue, it is not a universal human trait. The post I would say was clear as to its meaning.

Don Fry
Biker didn't have a chance. But a small difference between the two incidents, this one is a pedestrian crossing, against the lights, unaware to traffic. The other, as described, is a pedestrian, unaware of traffic, at the back of the pack, nearly across, with a biker assuming the path would clear by the time of his arrival at the collision point. In this case, poor biker, he's got a thousand quid of damage, and she is shuffling off as quick as she can go.
