martin collins 1
I fly almost mostly electric which use the flight pack to power the motor and rx, i am finishing off a plane that has more servos in it for flaps etc and am using a 6v rx pack as well as the flight pack which is 6s. I have a Futaba TX/RX charger and used to use this on my old 4.8v packs in the days when i flew glow (a long time ago). Can i use this for my 6v nimh pack and how do others charge, leave on for 24 hours? How can you tell when it is fully charged if using this method, alternative is to put it on my Fusion charger at the recommended charge rate on the pack which will tell me when it is done. I use Spektrum radio so use 6v not 4.8v nowadays. Just interested how the majority do it nowadays............
Denis Watkins
No more overnight charging Martin, Nihms cannot tolerate overcharge and heat without damage An auto charger will charge and switch off at the right time The numbers you need for supervised charging are obtained by Your charger output, with ref to your pack capacity, that you don't mention Edited By Denis Watkins on 21/06/2019 13:35:
Don Fry
Martin, those old Futaba socket mounted chargers have a ex battery out put for 4.8 volt packs, so the won't do a 6v pack. Has the charger you charge you flight packs with have a NiMh setting?

John Stainforth
I charge my 2000 mAh receiver batteries on overnight night chargers between 50 to 110 mA (which is only 0.025 to 0.06C is it not?) with never a problem - and the batteries last for years.
