Back in the 60's, the idiot that didn't indicate, and was usually tail-gating and flashing his lights at someone who couldn't possibly get out of the way, was usually driving a Jag!

I remember my dad observing exactly the same in the 60s...his generation were unlikely to be buying German cars at that time and BMW were still producing bubble cars!

I do miss wing mirrors though - much easier to use efficiently when reversing than the universal door mirrors fitted these days.

Possibly but there have been many instances in certain parts of the UK, normally involving a couple of cars - one usually filled with potential whiplash sufferers and involving multiple insurance claims.
