Thanks Bob, that makes some sense. I was wondering about passing the current through a 2mm pin.

I think I will give the 2.5mm plug a go. Bottom line, if wrong, not bankrupt.

Don what current are you considering for the jack plug ? They are not meant for heavy current and the center pin is not the weak spot ,it's the spring contact that makes contact with the outer part of the plug . I may be wrong but would suggest 3 to 5 amps max and check if it gets warm after extended use. Futaba only used them for under 1 amp for charging Tx's.

"gangster" is right!

Futaba has 3 types of transmitter charging connectors depending on battery nominal voltage: one for 9,6V Ni-Cd/MH, one for 7,2V Ni-MH and the last, the thinner one, for 6,0V Ni-MH/6,6Li-Fe/7,4V Li-Po.

Then 18MZ and 32MZ radios have particular charger connectors different to those mentioned above.

Not for a transmitter. It's an input power lead for a 250 watt Reaktor charger. The plug I know fits the unit is marked Futaba, centre pin positive on the multiplug charge lead. No idea what transmitter it's used for. I am no longer a Futaba user.

i can't use the multiplug charger plug, as is wiring won't be up to the loads.
