Stephen Jones
Hi, I have been given a large 2.5 Mtr glider but no idea what it is do any of you guy recognize it. It has two steel wires to join the wings and is two channel only. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Steve.
Ray Eggleston
Stephen, It looks like one of the Algebra’s. Maybe the 800 or 1000, depending on the wing span. Dick Edmunds kitted quite a few off them I believe.
PatMc
Ray, I think that every version of Algebra had an "All Moving Tailplane" (AMT) and I don't think any Edmund produced ones had open structure wings.
Nigel Sharp
I think that is possibly a Flair Albatross 100S modified for a fixed tail standard elevators or possibly then a self build copy... Certainly it was my first thought when seeing the picture. I have one... Two 8 gauge steel wing joiners but All moving tail. 2500mm = 98.42" Edited April 8, 2021 by Nigel Sharp typo
Gary Binnie
The wing structure and fuselage squareness look different to the Albatross, I'm not sure if no spoilers was an option. Fuselage looks more Sunrise, the radio hatch is just a sheet of thin ply (still has all moving tail like the Albatross).
Stephen Jones
Thanks for the replies Boys. Ok some more pictures may help. # It does seem to be in reasonable good condition although i will need to tighten up the covering. And the Wing Span is 2.5 meters. Cheers Steve. John Minchell
Steve It definately is not an Algebra, fuselage on the wooden one (800 or 1000) is totally different (rolled Ply) and the tailplane is all moving and sited 1/4 way up the fin from solid 3/8" balsa sheet not built up. Otherwise Algebras has sheeted foam wings and glass moulded fuselages. John M

Matt Carlton
I know the old "Gold Cloud" had an amt, but was there not a Silver Cloud as well which didn't?
