David Davis
My club, here in central France has two ARTF trainers. One of them a Seagull Boomerang is in my custody. It is fitted with my beloved Enya 50SS. The other has an OS 46AX in it. I am planning to return to the UK permanently in order to spend the autumn of my life with the woman I love. She cannot come here because her daughter has MS. I'm not prepared to let the club have the Enya so will need to replace it with something else. I was thinking of buying an OS 46AX to replace it until I saw the price! Just Engines have started selling the Force range of engines and the 46 is evailable for £99. Does anyone have any experience of these engines?
Engine Doctor
Force are made in Taiwan so should be just as good as the last SC/ASP offerings that to be honest weren't that bad. You wont have to worry about the chrome falling off the cylinder like an OS 46 AX will probably do after a short period !
Frank Skilbeck
It looks like Force are big into car/buggy glow engines and have branched out into aero engines, so I suspect they know what they are doing. But if you keep an eye out on the BMFA classifieds there are lots of either New in Box or nearly new 2 strokes engines for sale on a regular basis. Or just ask at your club I bet there are loads of engines available (we have loads in out club room!).
Don Fry
David, I’ve got an old 46 ball raced Thunder Tiger, is a bit of a Frankenstein, as it’s got a ASP carb fitted. It is a good runner, and starts well. I won’t be using it again, I would do electric if I built one that size. Yours if it would suit, pay post.
