On putting the power train together, I was disappointed to only get 39a 611w as according to e.calc (+/- 10%), I should have had higher readings. After a bit of head scratching, I tried a different make (same size), of ESC. Bingo!. Now getting more or less what I expected at 47a 733w. Everything else was exactly the same. Frank Skilbeck Posted November 9, 2021 Share Posted November 9, 2021 Also slightly unusual, if you do the Power = V * A calculation, the voltage is 15.6v in both cases (well 15.59 in the 2nd), as it's pulling 20% more amps I would have expected a slightly higher battery voltage drop. Andy Gates Posted November 9, 2021 Share Posted November 9, 2021 I would suggest the programming of the ESC. Hard / Soft timing as an example can have an effect as can auto selection of packs in use. Frank Skilbeck Posted November 10, 2021 Share Posted November 10, 2021 (edited) What would also be interesting to know is what rpm you got on each ESC, just to make sure the extra watts on the 2nd ESC was being translated into work. Also check that the 1st ESC hadn't somehow picked up the wrong number of cells, i.e. 5s rather than 4s, and so the LVC was kicking in.
