Kelly
Well after the spectacular demise of my Seagull Boomerang due to wing failure,I have purchased another Seagull ARTF The Seagull 40 low wing aerobatic trainer .Not much to say about the build of this model, it is identical to the boomerang apart from the two wing mounted servos for the ailerons.I will not say anymore about the build as Allex Hassle has covered it very well with the build blog on the Boomerang .I will post a picture of the completed model and we will see if this model survives more than 10 flights before something breaks or falls off

Kelly
Finished the Seagull 40 yesterday and made two flights with it today .Very nice model ,no problems with the U/C seems a bit stronger than on the Boomrerang.Engine seems reluctant to tick over, both flights ended with a dead stick landing. no drama flys nice and slow. The only changes I have made is to fit slightly larger diameter rubber wheels . Better suited to my flying site than small foam ones.A few pictures Kelvin

Dusty
Looks like a Super Air, nice colours, a 46 or 52 would spice it up nice or a 55!
Kelly
SC 46 up front gives it plenty of power .Hope to fly later on today.

Stephen Grigg
Ive just built a Boomerang, should I look out fer anything regarding your wing failure?
Kelly
Hi Stephen,I would not worry ,the only way you can tell is to remove the wing covering and check all the joints. It is a fine model, as you can see it has not put me off Seagull models. Your Boomer should be just fine . It is a bit like when you buy a car sometimes a duff one sneaks past quality control. Will you be posting some pics/video of your Boomer?Kelvin

Kelly
Hi Stephen, Shaun beat me to it . My seagull is not very well, a tree appeared in front of it when landing . It is a very nice sports model, easy to fly no nasty surprises when flying ( apart from trees). Has the same bendy U/C as the Boomerang, not as bad and more down to my rough groung flying site than anything else. Has a nice alloy wing joiner so no problems with the wings. Stephen Grigg
Thanks Shaun and Kelvtn, what difference did you find between the Boomerang and 40 when flying
Stephen Grigg
Ive done a good deal on a Black horse Super Air.thought I"d try a different manufacturer for a change
winchweight
Super Air? A lovely first low winger on a .46. Loved mine to bits. Just be careful with the covering as it is drum tight and can easily be punctured. Also don't let fuel residue linger on the film as the colour will come out eventually. Kelly
The Super Air was my first choice, the Seagull was less money so I gave Seagull a second chance . It is no more difficult to fly than the Boomerang, just a bit better in rolls and inverted flight, a Boomerang with low wings .
Stephen Grigg
Thanks Kelvin as I mentioned Ive gone fo the Black horse Super Air,thanks for the tip Shaun

Kelly
Hi Stephen, I have two models to build, another Ripmax Spitfire 50% complete and a Seagull AT-6 Texan, 62" wingspan for a 46 size 2 stroke . The Seagull 40 is on the back burner awaiting repairs . I almost forgot the Boomerang FOC from Perkins as a replacement for the one that lost its wings . The Seagull 40 is a good model , have fun .
