Richard Acland
A few years ago I built an 80 inch span high wing cabin model weighing about 9.5 lbs. The undercarriage is a one piece alloy construction. It has been a constant pain. I was given some alloy by a friend who works for an engineering company and it is far too soft. Despite my smooth and sometimes not smooth landings it bends easily. It has now given up the ghost and cracked where I am constantly straightening it. I I need some decent alloy about 3mm or so thick. where would be the best place to buy some. David P Williams
Hi Richard, got mine from DB Sport and Scale. Annealed locally to do the bends then it re-hardened itself over the next day or two.

Allan Bennett
Carbon would be my choice too. Check out this site. I replaced the aluminium u/c on my Xtra Wot with one of theirs many years ago.

Richard Acland
Thanks for the replies. Looks like carbon is the most popular, so thats the way I will go.
Paul De Tourtoulon
Also they don't sag with heavy landings.
