Masher
Anyone built a WOT 4 classic Mk3 in the last couple of years? I have one from a kit bought last year, completed before Xmas, stored in the workshop for a month, test flown yesterday. The issue I have is the veneer on the wings. Out of the box, the veneer was 'fine', (I have had Mr Foss kits before and don't expect top quality) the wings survived covering with the modern film and all was fine. Over the last month, prior to flying, the veneer has split significantly. It's the whole wing top and bottom, splits everywhere. Has anyone else found this? I'm not sure I will complain because I'm sure it will be my stupid fault (customer is always wrong?), just curious. Obviously the model flies perfectly as they always do but the wing now makes Norah Batty's stockings look wrinkle free. Perhaps Mr Foss has changed his suppliers or just diluted his glue too much? Outrunner
I would ask Chris to comment. I've built several of his modes, not recently though I must add but never had a problem with the veneers even after languishing in the loft for years. JOHN MOSLEY 2
I suspect if veneer is splitting it could be the veneer its self, the stuff i got got recently is very straight grain and have has splitting issues. These happened shortly after they had been done, also if you have left near radiators. Edited February 7, 2023 by JOHN MOSLEY
