  1. Having lived with a farmer (my father) for 25 years , the reason they can be so variable is the weather, price of produce etc. , and often working on there own a lot. Glad I went into engineering , it took the Weather element out the equation. Don't forget suicide in the farming community is high, in the circle of my fathers contacts two committed suicide. When they want to talk, spend time listening and express sympathy, is the best policy.
  2. We got snow one year on one of the MAP holidays at Primrose Valley in May, we spent a lot of time watching RC cars Carpet racing in the Ballroom. There used to be a load come from London Thames Mead club I think, we had two power sites.
  3. I fly at a busy site and I get up to 100 frame loses and sometimes low %R values, I flew same model on my own at a different site more rural only got at most 2 frame losses and better %R value throughout 5 flights.
  4. The gear channel on Spektrum is used to alter the safe modes Gear at 100% should be stability. 150% is full Safe, read the manual and look at channel monitor to see what you are doing.
  5. Have managed to delete the (Unusable model ) Toto ??? if not be careful about importing other models
  6. Your firmware is well out of date, dont try wfi, down load directly to pc, it will appear in downloads folder. Make sure file is called SPMTX.SAX , if it has a number in bracket use rename it. Copy to your micro sd file with only that file on it with transmitter off. Then switch on an wait be patient it takes a while. Current firmware is 3.12A
  7. Delete the unusable model, then run model validate all models in Model Utilities, this is important. If any other models memory are shown as damaged delete them also.
  8. Ron are you going to cover your model with Brown Paper, and if so are you going to show us on a Ytube video ??
  9. Very impressed by your work in what looked like a very cold workshop, enjoying watching the build.
  10. That new Kev makes my flying look bad.🤣 I will have to trap his fingers in van door or something when I come over.
  11. I was flying indoors yesterday with lots of people, to say people hate helicopters on the outdoor sites, there were load of mini helicopters drones and FPV all flying together and getting on fine.🤣
  12. So the ones made in China that will be CE marked, with nobody checking that they are actually complying with European standards. (CE) = China Export
  13. To be fair in Winter the angle of the sun has a large effect on the visibility of any model, to me its a lot harder to see the model.
  14. Yes my Conquest did that while I was practicing for a loop roll competition, the wire used was very poor quality and rigid, problem was it went to into full roll mode.
  15. Have you changed carb diaphragm, they get hard because of the modern petrol.
  16. Test your engine with another ignition module, I had problems engine would run but not rev up.
  17. Quicker to measure and make a new fuselage .
  18. Yes I would have been dead at 30, Blood poisoning was a killer before antibiotics. They only came in around 1940's. The only thing old people must had a hell of a good immune system.
  19. Dick Edmonds sold some of the Algebra glider kits, the fuselages were made of 1/32" good quality ply.
  20. Yes but at least it got warmer later, and we actually saw the sun in West Yorkshire, our reservoir's look exceedingly full during my afternoon walk.
  21. I know, but on all my planes that I value, I fit telemetry, I have no more that 10 per flight and mostly less. The worst I have had is 100 in a flight and I move antenna and or fit a extra satellite.
  22. I used to use copydex for wing skinning for veneer, but now using Gorilla polyuthane glue I just thin glue put on balsa sheeting, and then mist foam core with water. Then put in cores and apply a lot of weight. Most important is put thin plastic sheet between balsa and wing cores. Gorilla can foam through any small gap etc and then permanently stick outer core to wing. Not saying this is the best but found new veneer is splitting etc. so now using balsa. But balsa is expensive but cost of failure is more costly.
  23. I suspect if veneer is splitting it could be the veneer its self, the stuff i got got recently is very straight grain and have has splitting issues. These happened shortly after they had been done, also if you have left near radiators.
