Andy J
Need to apply some vinyl RAF roundels on a Bristol F2B but the newly printed versions are very bright colours and out of keeping with the model. Is there any method of fading the vinyl or purchasing any printed to look vintage.
Nigel Heather
You could try misting it with well-diluted mayt white or light grey. By misting I mean a very light coat with an airbrush or spray gun. Another possible would be to use weathering pigment or even crushed pastels. Might need to roughen the surface a little with fine wet and dry. Then seal with a varnish. Could be part of an overall weathering. PatMc
The roundels on the full size would have been bright as the aircraft would never have been more than a few months, or even weeks, old if used in active war service. It's only the photos of them that are aged.
Simon Chaddock
Post WWI the "Brisfit" remained in service until 1932 including use in desert conditions in the British Empire. I am sure by the end of its service many would have been really well 'sun faded'.
