Gemma Jane Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 I saw the picture and immediately thought Dragonfly without even really looking at it, posted it and looked at the tail and thought na it is too rounded, from that angle the wing tip tanks being so prominent sent me in the wrong direction! Something similar flew past here last summer although I cannot remember had it mono or biplane wings. I would of had no idea if it wasnt for the 'US NAVY' on the tail . After much deliberation, i worked out it is a Curtiss SOC Seagull. Not too sure which Variant though. Im thinking its prob from New Zealand or somewhere of the sort, not English. The engine looks the same as the Aircobra one? I could be on the completely wrong tracks here.
