kc
I would suggest a Swann Morton Retractaway scalpel and Permagrit wedge sanding block as 2 essential items. Also several building boards of various sizes from plasterboard.......takes pins beautifully.

kiwi g
Phils got the idea. its a the perfect item in the workshop. the fridge for the beverage with a wine rack , that doubles as a plane rack , Perfect . fridge to keep the nasties like glue away from kids and wine rack for the aircraft. Handy item would have to be the snap blade knife tho.

Martin_H
For building from/on plans - the non-stick Glad Bake and Cooking Paper - translucent, no glue known to man sticks to it, you can draw on it and its free! (As long as the missus doesn't find out you are taking it...) Whilst you scout the kitchen Nylon cutting boards (not plastic) are simply brilliant and come in assorted sizes and one universal colour (white). Roger in Dubai
Wth the amount of plastic bags in ARTF kits today, I would say the most useful tool is a sharp pair of scissors. Bag for fuselage, bag for wing(s), bag for fin, bag for tailplane, bag for screws.......you get the picture. Oh, I suppose a rubbish box to take all the bags away !! Seriously, has to be the Dremel.
