  1. Why pay £7.50 for it from flea-bay though? The same item is available direct from HK's UK warehouse for £4 or so. This seller is just reselling HK activator (at a vastly increased price!)
  2. Posted by Tony Harrison 2 on 14/02/2016 21:25:46: It's disappointing, too, that some titles such as Quiet & Electric Flight are IME difficult to find since few retailers stock them regularly QEFI ceased publication about October time last year. Model Flyer went a few months before that. Not sure what IME is, but if you mean Aviation Modeller International, that went years ago. There only seems to be 4 British mags left now. Hopefully those will carry on strongly Edited By Andy Ennis on 15/02/2016 04:37:13
  3. Mine, like John Lee's, is used indoors in my spare room. Sorry, should have made that clear. Colin, again like John, I always cover my board with some kind of plastic film, so, in the main it has remained glue free. Occasionally I have dripped a little glue on an unprotected bit, and have just wiped it off immediately, with no ill effect Andy
  4. I have had one of the SLEC balsa building boards for a a couple of years now, and only have good things to say about them. Mine accepts pins readily, and has stayed flat throughout use
  5. Posted by Geoff Sleath on 17/12/2015 00:17:18: How about a DB Sport and Scale Mascot trainer? I've no personal experience of this particular model but DB is a very reputable kit supplier and I doubt they'd market anything other than a quality model. Geoff +1 for the Mascot, it's a superb trainer. I built one to learn mode 1 controls (I was already competent on mode 2) I later passed it on to my brother, who also learnt to fly on it. I really can't recommend the Mascot enough! Edited By Andy Ennis on 17/12/2015 00:31:07
  6. My club, Ashton MAC (near Manchester), was founded in 1937! 78 years and still going strong, and I'm sure there must be older clubs out there
  7. Hi fly boy, I have found just soaking the offending part in glow fuel is the easiest way to soften old congealed castor. Regarding the exhaust, give Steve Webb Models a call, they're the imorters for Enya, so if anyone can get a replacement for it, it'll be them! Andy E Edited By Andy Ennis on 14/11/2015 17:10:20
  8. That looks quite nice. Not got the Freewing one, but I have got a version by Max-Thrust (the one in my avatar). It's a bit bigger at 80" span, but it flies great. Andy
  9. Colin and Peter are correct. If you balance at 33%, you will be more tail heavy than at 25%. Much better to try it at 25% and find it's a bit nose heavy (but still controllable), than at 33% and find it's too twitchy on elevator and possibly lose control. 10. I'm currently building an 88" wingspan Connie from plans drawn by Philip Noel (bought from a competing magazine company). I have to agree that a Connie may be quite a difficult build for an inexperienced builder, but you never know until you try, and I'm sure the members here will quite happy to help out with advice if you get stuck.
  11. Hmmm, very difficult to be exact, but I estimate over the years I've accumulated somewhere in the region of £25,000 worth of gear, plus whatever has gone previously gone to the great hangar in the sky!
  12. That's only because the Anylink has been discontinued and replaced with the Anylink 2, which Steve Webb does sell. I don't think the Anylink works with the Ares models though. Andy
  13. Why not drop DB Sport and Scale an email and ask them. I'm sure they'd help.
  14. Try acetone, and if meths or acetone won't shift it, then I'm afraid you may be stuck with it! Andy
