  3. Why do you want to control your motors on separate channels?I currently fly a twin and both engines are controlled by one channel linked to the Rx on a Y lead, also using a Dx9.Should one engine cut you will probably have enough to think about without having to decide which switch to flick! About the only time I can see independent throttles being of any great use is when taxiing on land or water.I would advise just plugging in to one Rx output.
  4. Thanks RCM&E for my Advent Calender prize, two very useful sets of pliers.First win in ten years! Much appreciated. ,
  5. Thinned epoxy finishing resin, totally fuel proof and easy to apply.Thin with a little meths and it brushes easily.
  6. Hi Ken,I know about Gladstons closing but which is the second one?I agree with all you say but would point out that Gladstons closed not through lack of business but because the owner wished to retire and could not find a buyer!Still a loss.
  7. Would like to say how much I like the content but my issue still has not arrived!!!!Starting to be a regular occurrence arriving after it`s in the shops. Not happy.
  8. Sudden silence, what was the end result?
  9. My digital access has also been removed even though I have had it for a number of years ,no message sent by RCM&E advising of change.A typical example of the arbitrary actions of modern day suppliers.Do they really want our business?I always saved my mags but like others stppped doing so when the archive facility was provided.David, like you,no one has written,e-mailed or telephoned to say my contract has been changed.I want my digital back on it`s original terms, this is not the only magazine available and despite what they say not necessarily the best!
  10. Check out the Spektrum A7000 retract servo.Very powerfull servo which is analogue, can be used with servo slow and accepts end point adjustment.Reasonable cost too, bought one last week from Kings Lynne Models for £16-50 plus reasonable post & packing.I plan to use this to work my Unitracts retracts on my 72" Spitfire, initial tests were spot on,lifts and lowers both legs without any problem. 11. Hi Stevo,Been in touch with Dave Hurrell today and told him about your build,he says the Laser 70 will be fine in Be2c and will have ample power. The original flew very well and was a good model.Should you wish I can put you in touch with Dave as he is happy to give any help if you need it.Good luck with your build, looking very good so far.David H is now retired from the RAF and was indeed a Air Vice Marshall. He has had many WW1 plans published and really does lots of research regarding each project.A really good bloke and currently flies a lot of scale edf. 12. I think Myron has made a good point as many of us,whilst growing older, have been active modellers for many years.I will very soon be 74 but I started building models in 1954.Like many of us I did reduce my interest for a while,RAF,marriage and family etc.but quickly resumed on a regular basis from very early 30`s when my son expressed an interest.Great times and a great hobby, could not imagine life without it.
  13. Never won anything so a small win would be nice!
  14. As you say the HiTec retract servo is not progammable,it goes 180 degrees and cannot be slowed,as Bob said you have to programme the travel by adjusting the servo arm length. An alternative could be the Spektrum AR7000 which is a very powerfull retract servo and not too expensive at approx £23-£25.The good features are that it responds to servo slow if you have it on you Tx and endpoint adjustment.
  15. Hi Eric,I did a kit review for RCM&E on the DB Auster many years ago and it was a lovely model.Obviously this was the old kit and not the current laser cut one currently available but it was an enjoyable build and the end result was a lovely looking model which flew very well.I originally fitted a Laser 60 which had ample power but later changed to a Laser 70,either engine flew it with ease though if you are looking to aerobat it you may need a liitle more power. One thing I did find was that even though it`s quite a large model the radio bay was quite small, perhaps the modern 2.4 Rx`s will fit better!.Good luck with you build.
  16. Having bought the mechanical set from Unitracts for the 72" Spitfire I was expecting them to be a virtually`drop in` fit but find that they are,in fact, longer than those shown on the plan and stand proud of the wing by quite a bit.I can lower them into the wing a liitle bit but the retract actuator then fouls the upper sheeting, also the outer edge of the wheel is very close to the outer wing rib.I have built for well over 30 years and I find this is one of the least enjoyable models I have ever built despite the laser cut parts which are pretty good.Quite a few errors on the plan and now this with supposedly `custom` retracts.Who got it wrong? The mag or Unitracts?

  18. Try again Andy,I`ve just got straight on.!
  19. How about another for a 120 fs? 1) FW190    2)Zero   3) La9    All got nice round fronts!
  20. How stupid can you get?Would this person drive a car with no brakes?Surely the minimum requirement is to buy/fit anew ariel or send it to the maker to get it checked.
