  1. Clever way of doing the canopy plug, neat building as always Andy.
  2. ?100 for that metcalfe Tornado?! He's having a laugh, on drugs, it's not worth anything like that.
  3. Just checked my calendar, it's definitely not Apri 1st yet...
  4. There's some data in this thread including, allegedly, some supplied by DA. http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48054
  5. Why does it recommend 120cc when most that size comfortably run 100cc? I'm also not a fan of their models with foam construction, just feels cheap and poor quality. Good discount though.
  6. Justin, at what point did anyone advocate ending the LMA? It appears that you're (once again) making inflammatory statements in the hope of starting an argument.
  7. Justin, not sure the personal attack on MattyB is necessary, he's put forward a reasoned and non-inflammatory argument and has been clear it's his view and has not tried to deliberately stir the hornets nest. I on the other hand will be more forthright. Steve's lost 2 (3?) of these large models, I simply don't think he should be allowed to build and fly them anymore.
  8. Thanks Dom, great video and an awesome sight to watch. That said I do have reservations about models that big, didn't a previous incarnation come apart in mid air? As always, appreciate the sharing, keep 'em coming.
  9. Ok Pete, I think there are two strings here which have confused me. Pocketmags charge more but you can download it to keep, I get that now. What I'm missing is the 'read only' version that I used to read on this site, has that ceased?
  10. Have I missed something about pocketmags? Up until now I've always had the digi subscription through here and I'm sure I paid a hell of a lot less than pocketmags are asking....... Is that our only option now?
  11. The issue is so prolific it's been named Spektrumitis, enough said!
  12. Lovely model, looks like he nearly binned it levelling off for the second pass though! Thanks for sharing.
  13. Morning Peter, great progress here! On the wing you'll find a wing bandage isn't necessary, with such a short span the loads are small so a dihedral brace and accurate gluing together of the wing roots is sufficient. With the brace I did cut all the way through the wing, made it slightly deeper than I needed, then sanded the excess flush with the wing surface after the epoxy had set. Doing it this way transfers the flight loads directly to the spars AND skins.
  14. Graham The Hurricane is scheduled to be the 2018 mass build Now I know it works I've been busy re-drawing the plan to simplify the build a bit and have started a second fuselage to incorporate these changes. I still need to make things like the canopy plug and for Traplet to CAD the plan and make the wood pack but we're on the right track. It's a very benign flyer, with generous washout and a well proven wing section it has a really solid feel in the air so, spend the next couple of years getting some stick time!!!
  15. I made mine, that way you can have exactly what you want.
  16. We used Car Wow last year when my wife bought a new VW. We didn't buy from them but printed their quote and took it to the VW main dealer as part of the negotiation as it was much cheaper. They matched it
  17. Are you sure about 1/32? Seems rather thin for my liking...
  18. Chop chop Olly, the first event is fast approaching!!
  19. Reminds of that one from Thunderbirds.
