  1. Am I missing something here? Surely just lower the throttle lever? I've always used the throttle cut purely for i.c. whih saves a lot of messing about and still leaves the engine on tickover at low throttle. Not the case with electric as it cuts the motor.
  2. A Guillotine works well. Can be the rotary type if it's sharp.
  3. George, I love what you're doing here. This is one of the reasons I like the forum. Both good and bad news. I have one of these. I excitedly searched my model bits cupboard and found a Sanwa Conquest, However, I found that whilst the radio is immaculate the battery cover is badly scarred. I don't know how, but it's scratched and looks as though it's had a soldering iron resting on it! I may have another, I'll have a look at the weekend and come back to you, regards, Mr P p.s. Sanwa equipment stood me in good stead for 25 years. I fly with Spektrum now and have had several failures here and there. Horizon are great at fixing them, but I wish they just wouldn't go wrong in the first place!
  4. Thanks for this James. It's demystified LEDs for me. I shall give it a go!
  5. Ha ha! Have you flown it? I haven't finished mine yet, it just needs some hi viz decoration. They seem to be quite infectious, often met with sneers by other club members until they see them fly and then they buy one. Much as I did!
  6. Masher, I've just bought a Bogey lite from **LINK** It's made of Corex (like estate agent's boards!) Quite a few of our club members have them, both ic and electric. Cheap as chips. They all swear by them as a great indestructible hack and they fly really well.
  7. Well Craig, I'm afraid Apple don't tell you that you can't see Flash content on their devices. Maybe you should by a P.C.
  8. My 53 mk1 had a broken crank case and I wanted more power. Hence I used the old 46 crankcase and my newer insides from the 53. The crancases are the same, the head on the 53 is taller, from the bottom if that makes sense! i.e. Below the fins is a circle and below the circle is more head on the 53! Could the crankshaft be the same but with a longer conrod and taller head on the 53. Same piston. I think there are differences between the mk1 and mk 2, 53 if you look at the parts list at **LINK**
  9. I thought the 53 was a stroked 46. the cylinder head is taller.
  10. I successfully swapped my 53 innards to the 46 crankcase. I bought a new gasket set and needle valve assembly from Just Engines. Great service from them.
  11. Lithographic(Litho plate) is traditionally sheet alluminium. It is anodised on one side and coated with a light sensitive material capable of accepting images and text which attract ink, the blank areas attract water which repels the "greasy" ink. The sheet is thin enough to roll around a drum on the printing press and pass on it's ink image to paper, hence "offset." The small offset plates are the thinnest. The backside of the plate is plain smooth aluminium, often scratched, which could be polished up without even bothering to clean the reverse. Sorry if this sounds a bit nerdy, but I used to work for a Litho plate manufacturer!
  12. Great model. I've always wanted to see a Goose in model form. This one belongs to a family friend over in Ireland.(Sorry it seems I'm unable to post the images. See my "Misc." album) I photographed it when it flew into Duxford a few years ago. The cockpit interior is something to behold, all leather and Art Deco instruments. Your photos look really evocative of the full size aircraft. Come on RCME, publish the plans!
