  1. A really great day, I enjoyed it very much! A fine collection of friendly gents too, I will definitely be attending events in the future.
  2. The Fan is a fairly good well know DS site...problem is the woolly hat brigade getting in the way of your circuit!
  3. Well, my covering iron failed half way through the JP's fuselage covering tonight, so I've had to finish off with the good old clothes iron. Not happy with the result that gave me, but not much I can do about that now. Decals and yellow stripes left to do, as well as a lot of painting on the Mig. I don't think the mig will make it! So close, alarm is set for very early tomorrow. Will see what miracles I can perform..
  4. Should be good! If the wind is good on Sunday, I hope to maiden not only the JP but my Mig29 too. What fun, first flights in front of a crowd!
  5. I think I'll be going to the Long Marston model show on saturday, and will be travelling up in the camper saturday night to wild-camp in the area, ready for flying sunday
  6. Are we slaughtering chickens yet, in sacrifice to the wind gods? 3mp SW does not look appealing!
  7. That looks very nice Steve, hope the build is going well? Just started covering mine last night - oh the sins a bit of covering highlights! Apparently my tanks are not very round, nor very smooth. Ah well, at least they are plug-in and can be remedied at a later date.
  8. Good on you Steve I'm pretty much at the same point as you now by the sound of things, not looking forward to all the carving with the intakes and such. I'm keeping it easy and going for XM424 - all silver with some little yellow stripes. Just over a week left - plenty of time!
  9. I'm rudderizing mine too, thanks for the photos as I'm nearly at this stage
  10. Ugh! unreal covering skills. I think I'll be leaving mine at home and will just pop along to see the master crafted models instead.
  11. Hi Mark. My wings are just about ready for their top skin, and the fuselage sides have been assembled onto the battery box and the nose has just been pulled in. It's getting there! Hope to see you in May / June!
  12. Hi Mark, Started mine not too long ago now as well, though I am cheating and using the CNC kit - comes together very fast. I found a set of long flair aileron torque rods that does the job with no messing around cutting and shutting, might be worth a look when you get to that point. I got mine online from Blackburn models.
  13. Very nice Phil! Laser pack just turned up, so build starting tonight. Will get in touch about the T-shirt too.
  14. Hi David, How did the L59 build go? I hope she is flying by now I'm just about finished on the build of mine - I am ready to cover now...but need a canopy! Did you manage to source one, or form your own over a plug? I've never done any forming like that, and want to get this build done and ready for the slopes. all the best, Andy
