  1. Great Lindsay, that looks so good i'm going to start to put together the kit I have, new unrun OS 40 fsr so should go well!
  2. A lot of larger aircraft have a nose wheel steering control which is not connected to the rudder pedals
  3. Excellent, a great story, has inspired me to make a start on the 48 inch version I have had for at least the last 15 years!
  4. Always remember the tailplane was built up then covered with obechi veneer
  5. Wow, was also my first r/c aircraft, Enya 19bb, controlled by a Futaba 27mhz FM set with the silver tx, FD26m servos, brings back memory's, still have all the radio equipment!
  6. Rustins plastic coating is what I use for fuel proofing, don't know if its the same but it sure smells like the old Tufcote!
  7. Been flying RC for almost 40 years now, and probably the best model I ever had for flying in really strong winds was a Cambria fun fighter Spitfire, powered with a Webra speed 20, flew it in winds strong enough that made the frequency pennant flap around so much that I thought the TX antenna was about to snap off!
  8. Does anyone remember the Rojair Skipper? Fibreglass fus & foam wings, low wing and could be built as a t tail or "normal" tail position, looked a lot like a Piper Tomahawk. Still have the kit for one somewhere!
  9. I'll have a look & if I still have it i'll let you know & get your details to send it on.
  10. If you bought this model from a guy called Darren I can assure you its the Irvine spinner as I assembled it for him and I replaced the standard spinner with the Irvine one, come to think of it I may still have the original in my spares drawer!
  11. This is the spinner fitted to your Seafire, don't ask how I know!
  12. I have recently used some Rustins plastic floor coating, smells just like the old tufcote, brushed on well and so far its holding up well to 5% nitro!
  13. Here is a couple of pics of my Excelsior 188 which I purchased a few weeks back, powered by a YS 120ac, superbly built & finished by the original owner!
  14. Are you sure the con rod is sliding fully to the rear on the gudgeon pin, sometimes a bit of solvent is needed to clean off any congealed oil that is stopping it from moving fully to enable it to give clearance to slip off the crank
  15. To be honest I would pay him what the going rate was when they were available, approx. £170-£200 as they are superb fliers, but I think he is trying to cash in on the phrase when they were available
