  3. Good afternoon I have recently completed a Cap 20L and installed a new ASP 32 with a 9 x 6 prop running on Irvine5% fuel. Today at my club field I ran up the engine for some set up and range checks,. appreciate I have an new engine and a couple of tanks through it but it seems sluggish on power to get the model to take off speed ? Any thoughts on going to 10 x 5  Edited By RC Plane Flyer on 11/12/2016 14:46:28
  4. Hi Jonathan On my build I actually glued ply spacer pieces under the  centre servo lug fitting area to lift the servo arm higher than the side two Edited By RC Plane Flyer on 09/12/2016 18:56:54
  5. How did you do it on line without sending a photograph ?? Only interested as I will have to do the same shortly
  6. Hi Ernie. Have you tried an optimise in the system tools ?
  7. Hi Glyn44 I have used your proposed method and used a large washer under the bolt head to spread the load
  8. If you could advise us of the new batteries make etc, maybe more details of the motor rating it could assist people with your problem
  9. I feel you will get lots of answers here but I will start with does the motor get overheated ? this will weaken the magnetic flux power, Have you tried a retune of the ESC to TX ? I lost power some how and a retune did the job to get back to full power
  10. I have two Irvine carbs with same problem this did happen after nose over
  11. Well at long last, here is my suprise win last year nearing completion
  12. Hello again. Another supplier would be Modelsport Otley. These are car people but have lots of ball links
  13. Jon. How about Fast Lad. They are helicopter people but ball links are critical on helis !
  14. Andy Try a start up procedure with TX and ESC you may get away with it
  15. Hello Trevor C. What a great film design that is. I must try that on my next build
  16. May I suggest an Alpha Jet 2 in Depron Just search the web and a website in America with a download plan is available It's a lovely model to fly bit of prop noise as it's a 2200kv motor with 6" prop for launch but throttle back and it's a pussy cat
  17. Thanks for responces Steve it is a GFN with tapering beams so I will be going for bolts that get to bottom of beam with a Flat Washer and Spring Washer under the head Cymaz Thank you for the link its now stored in my Favourites to look at later. It also mentions GFN beams with the deeper part of the hole not taped and works as a nyloc nut
  18. Looking for thoughts on thread title, Building a Pete Miller Cap21 and following the build I am at the final stage of engine to mount. I have drilled the plastic mount tapped out the holes at M3 as the engine is tight in the built up cowl area. My thought was to re fix the engine back in place with longer M3 studding which will cut new threads deeper in the mount, maybe put some epoxy in the existing holes before final fix. I appreciate i will get use self tappers ?? Anybody gone down this route with tapped threads ??
  19. Hello Alan I was going to suggest the Silver Steel route as long as you do not need a groove for Circlips although a hacksaw blade is a good groove maker.
  20. Snake exits ! I was advised after an elevator control failure to ensure if possible to have the 2mm pushrod connecting to the inner snake to be inside the outer at the fus. side
