  1. Ron, what you're saying is exactly right, however unless we get vectorised PDF's the next best option would be to download the PDF's, re-scan it back in at the highest of possible resolution (1200dpi or something high like that) then resize it so we don't lose the clarity. Yes that would probably work but geez it's a lot of mucking around.
  2. I'm not trying to be negative here either. I think the offering of the digital plans is a great thing however I just think the execution is a little off at this stage. If we can be given the plans at 100% of the original size and not have to worry about trying to scale them to the right size then they are onto a winner.
  3. I have just been speaking to a friend and he is a digital subscriber too. He downloaded the plans and he has the same issue with them being the size of an A4 page. He has tried to scale them up to the right size however because he has had to enlarge the size when printing all of the lines are enlarged leaving you with a thick fuzzy line. Not a thin, smooth line like you would get from the printed plans in the magazine. That's not going to work. Especially if you plan to cut your own kit.
  4. And that was my thoughts exactly. We shouldn't have to worry about trying to get the right size on our end. Take for example if someone buys a short kit from Sarik to build this plane and they print the plans but the print is not exactly perfect then there'll be discrepancies and potential build issues. I don't know how to talk to the editors but yeah perhaps it is something that they should be made aware of.
  5. Yes it is in acrobat reader that I am looking.
  6. Yes Outerzone plans are fine when you download them and go to print them. The problem here is that the plans offered under our subscription are not full size plans. They are only the size of an A4 page. It is then up to us readers to accurately resize the page and print them. Seems like a potential recipe for disaster if you ask me. Sure it is awesome that the plans are offered to us digitally but the execution of the process is a little flawed.
  7. Right ok then. So just to clarify then, the digital plans are not offered in full size. They are only offered in the reduced size.
  8. Ok maybe I didn't explain myself well. When I downloaded the plans they only downloaded at the size of an A4 page. There was no options to save it as a 100% size or anything like that. It just downloaded as an 8"x11" page. I'm using the Page Suite online magazine reader that the Modelflying website takes you to when you click on the Digital Archives page.
  9. Hello All, I see now that digital subscribers get access to a digital copy of the free plans which is awesome however when I went to the digital archive and download the plans they are only the size of an A4 page. Is there a way to get the digital copy without having to try and resize the PDF to the right size. To be able to resize the PDF requires the full copy of Adobe Acrobat which comes at a cost. Or am I missing something here? Cheers, Glenn.
  10. Oh I'm conflicted now haha. I'm a current subscriber that is up for renewal. I'm in Australia so it takes forever for the magazines to get here. Albeit before the newsagencies do. The problem is I love reading the physical magazine but getting the plans is the icing on the cake for me but I do have an ever increasing pile of magazines. The question is do I now just go digital or both print and digital again . Decisions decisions hahaha.
  11. Hello All, Now that there is new owners who's the best contact in terms of subscribers not receiving magazines. I'm in Australia which I know makes for delays but We are now near the end of October and the last one I got was the August copy and that was about 2 weeks ago.
  12. I don't get on here very often so I've missed this build thread. The Avian is looking sensational. Just checking on the progress of it?
  13. Hello Folks. I'm looking to purchase these plans for a future build (I'm about to start a Dennis Bryant Westland Widgeon). I was just wondering if you have commited aviation as yet Martin. If so how did it go?
  14. Hello Peter. It appears that your build thread has disappeared. Do you know what happened to it?
  15. Hello All, I urge any international subscribers to check your account. My subscription normally expires in October and sure enough the other day I received an email from Mytimemedia stating that my subscription was coming to an end. I then logged in to here to and one page says my subscription will expire in October as normal yet another page says it is to expire in December. I'm not sure which page to believe so I have emailed Beth Ashby from Mytimemedia to look in to it. Hopefully the company (Not Beth haha) don't stuff this one up too.
  16. I was very lucky and a gentleman contacted me a few weeks back in regards to the missed copies. We currently have an agreement that whatever issues that I missed he'll send to me as long as I pay the postage. I'm happy to do that. Now we are just waiting to see what turns up in the mail. Thanks again Kevin if you're still watching
  17. Perhaps I've miss read some comments on here. I may have also misinterpreted David Ashby's post just above but I guess we'll have to wait and see what shows up in the mail over the next few weeks.
  18. Therein lies the problem Joost. They aren't sending us the missing issues. That's up to us to get them. They are supposed to be compensating us by extending our subscription by 2 months. Not what I wanted but by the looks of things the distributors don't really care what the people want.
  19. Sorry about having to edit a word out. I understand you're only a contributor but yes hopefully some words of my frustrations be passed along. To be honest if I didn't enjoy the magazine so much I wouldn't bother re doing my subscription in a few months time I'm that annoyed with what's happened.
  20. I'm sorry but I think it's pretty rude that we are expected to purchase the missed copies even though we have already paid for them. I don't care that my subscription might get extended by a couple of months at the end. I didn't ask for the magazines to be halted in the first place. No I'm expected to go and purchase my own copies. I'd vent my disapproval to someone but just like all of my previous emails but it will just fall on deaf ears. Yeah I'm cranky.
  21. Hello David, Sorry I don't understand your last part there about missing issues being added to a subscribers remaining timespan. What does that actually mean? Will we get the missing issues along with the July issue?
  22. Oh for sure. If the wires aren't functional it just makes it a bit easier to design a quick connection method to make at the field assembly much quicker
  23. Hello Folks, I'm not sure if I've asked this before but i'll ask anyway haha. Are the flying wires on these functional or not?
