  4. They came in packs, with handed designs in multi colours and sizes. If i knew how to create an album i would put a pic.
  5. Does anyone remember the packs of self adhesive trim sheets you could get about 20 years ago? What happened to them? They were a good way to decorate your models without a lot of masking or cutting of covering.
  6. Bury used to have two, Roy Levers "MEGA MODELS" and Bury model shop. Roy moved to Bolton and the other went mostly into cars.
  7. I got into the "game" through walking my in-laws dog, that was over 40 years ago and since then have tought many younger and older people to fly. I have also displayed models at several events resulting in some new members.
  8. James, All of us at some stage have gone through the same moment, "Do i go or stay" Once you start talking to the members you will be hooked.
  9. I don´t know what type of pump you have but I have used an old screen wash pump for years, it only needs stripping every two years and a clean up. Steve.
  10. Can anyone please help? I am trying to resurrect some old models i used to fly in my early days and need the plans or instructions. They are a; 1, "Advance 40" low wing intermediate plane originally from Humberside models. 2, Precedent "Hi boy Turbo" I would be grateful for any information.. Steve P.S I do have the wings.

  12. As a long time model flier and sometime full size, Can i say that during my training i was able to practice touch and goes in Morecombe bay( while the tide was out) I queried the rule on 500ft and was told as Martin says we were OK.
  13. Sometimes known as "Salter fastenings"
  14. I recently ordered a set of cores from Billkits, They are for a rather large delta ,so i was very surprised when, after a couple of weeks with myself and Bill deciding the final requirements i was told they were in the post. When they arrive is in the lap of the gods as the post here in Portugal is currently second to "snail mail" Once again many thanks to BILL MANLEY for first class service. STEVE.
  15. I recently ordered a set of cores from Billkits, It has taken less than two weeks including discussions with Bill on the final requirements to them being in the post. When they arrive is in the lap of the gods due to post here in Portugal being behind "snail mail" Many thanks to BILL MANLEY.
  16. Thanks guys, kc i have the plan in tracing form (ready for printing from) Mark thanks for the tip on CG Steve.
  17. Sorry if i am hi-jacking this thread, BUT, I am having a set of cores cut by Billkits at the moment. It is a "Stinger" delta by Terry Eato and am looking for the article on construction. I am not sure which mag it was in but is a MEGA PLAN. Is there anyone out there who can help.
  18. Question for Barrie, Are you Roy´s lad? I bought my first model from him when he was in Bury and the Lanc was hanging in the workshop.
  19. Erf, I know you are on the Fylde, Do you (when you can) fly near to the army camp? Are you still bothered by the occasional low(very)Cherokee?
  20. Re the 262, Who remembers the unforgettable sight of the 1/2 size 262 going in at Woodvale several years ago due to a bird strike?
  21. For those of you who read the Daily Mail, read the personal finance page. There are a number of these scams listed.
  22. I´m not that much different to Peter and Erf in age and find my way blocked by younger drivers. The difference is that here in Portugal the motorways are nearly empty due to toll charges.
