  1. I've always found him very helpful but he is trying to run a business so don't expect a "screw by screw" explanation. He is one of this hobbies "nice guys" Good luck.
  2. Worth a phone call to Mike Ridley at http://modelradioworkshop.co.uk/ You can call Mike between 9.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday on: 07708 436163 – Please only ring this number in the normal work hours above.
  3. It's not a JR or Spektrum switch. It's a "clone" by Perkins. Not sure if the wiring connections or mechanics are different though.
  4. Balsa Cabin do a good range of thicknesses and sell by the single A4 sheet.
  5. I've been looking for a replacement pump unit (metal not plastic) for an OS 120 MkII engine. If anyone has one I'd be pleased to hear about it.
  6. Not sure if Chris is still making kits but you can probably contact him through this link to 2018 show. http://www.warbirdsfightermeet.co.uk/ The other, totally different company, referenced in some of the posts is Warbird Replicas.
  7. A better solution for holding the aerials in place is to fix a short piece of drinking straw or "snake outer" to the airframe and slide the aerial inside that. Taping is not a good idea as if you have "an arrival" the aerials may be torn out of the Rx.
  8. Don't want to worry you but didn't the FAKE Spektrum receivers have no orientation markings on them?
  9. Don't rely on just a flat piece of Velcro to hold the battery in place. IT WON'T. Use a velcro strap which goes around the battery and a suitable part of the airframe.
  10. Probably "Gyroscopic Precession. Wikipedia can explain it better than I. "Torque-induced precession (gyroscopic precession) is the phenomenon in which the axis of a spinning object (e.g., a gyroscope) describes a cone in space when an external torque is applied to it."
  11. Ready rolled icing is on the same tubes. Been using them in built up wings for servo cable tubes as well.
  12. On a similar repair I drilled small holes either side of the cracks and used thin plastic coated garden wire twisted through the holes to stitch the cracks together before tacking with cyano, removed the wire and lined the inside with lightweight glass cloth and finishing resin. The outside of the cracks and small holes were then filled with micro balloons and finishing resin .Using the wire enables you to pull the cracks together as tightly as necessary which I found easier than using tape.
  13. Try phoning JE rather than just looking on their website, they can also supply gasket paper from which you can cut your own. Model Fixings should be able to supply all the screws/bolts that you need. They also supply bearings.

  15. The wind speed and direction (discounting gusts) affects the ground speed. The stall speed (air speed) is the same irrespective of wind direction relative to the ground.
  16. It may have been referring to the use of SIG Coverall which is a nylon type heatshrink fabric without adhesive. This required the airframe to have the adhesive (Sig Balsarite?) applied before the covering could be attached.
  17. John, JR DMSS is totally different from DSM2 or DSMX and will not operate ANY Spektrum Rx.
  18. David, Junichisan, in my experience, has always been very helpful and is certainly more responsive than asking Ripmax. Glad you got sorted.
  19. "fitted with merlin jet engines" Of course, the little known Merlin JET. Most newspapers should stop reporting anything to do with aircraft as they haven't got a clue!
  20. Apparently traces of metal particles were found on a magnetic drainplug in one engine. No further details yet.
  21. Ask OS directly. The contacts name is Junichi Shimazaki. His English is very good, (certainly better than my Japanese!) His email is: '[email protected]'
