  1. It is always Spectrum, isn't it? I wouldn't use Spectrum even if they gave them away. Okay, you might need to spent an extra £100 on the radio, but at least you could rule out radio problems after a prang. Edited By ted hughes on 06/07/2017 09:41:39
  2. Would this battery be suitable for the Radian XL:FLOUREON 3S 11.1V 3300mAh 40C Lipo ?
  3. I recently had my CH replaced. The engineer said the pressure should be just over 1 cold, about 1.2 . There is a filling loop under the combi boiler to increase pressure.
  4. Thanks for the reply, MattyB. I had a passing thought an interchangeable wing might be a good idea, but I have heard the Pro was not as good as the Radian 1, so I'll give it a miss!
  5. I notice the E-flite Radian 1 has wings held in by screws, as the Radian Pro had (the PZ Radian 1 wings just plugged together through the fus). Does anyone know if the Pro wings will fit the Radian 1 fus?
  6. For the screen to go black I would suspect the monitor. I have a high resolution screen for gaming, I have had to return two because they randomly go black. One would flicker on and off a few times when first being used.
  7. It is very commonly reported that planes climb when we turn into wind, and fall when we turn down wind. Since the plane itself is unaware of ground speed, this must be something we are doing ourselves.
  8. Imagine your plane is trimmed to fly straight and level at 50kmph in still air, and can loop. bunt, etc A steady wind of 20kmph suddenly blows across the airfield. When you turn into it, you have to increase throttle to maintain airspeed, by 20kmph. When you turn downwind, you need to decrease throttle as your speed increases to 70kmph.     Edited By ted hughes on 25/04/2017 23:43:05
  9. Posted by maurice northcott on 27/03/2017 11:25:59: You could always try the old Brian Taylor method (we used to kid him)...... install a deflated balloon behind the c of g and just prior to flight, pump it full of helium. Seriously though, I am sure you will have a nice flyer for those balmy Summer evenings... Cheers matey maurice Edited By maurice northcott on 27/03/2017 11:26:32 I know this is a joke, but would it work? A balloon and gas has weight, so should increase weight- but on the other hand helium balloons fly.So would it help?
  10. Argos are excellent for customer service, lets hope they continue in business.
  11. Martin, be truthful- you certainly would not have been happy to be out of pocket or you wouldn't have started this thread. You would rather see another LHS go to the wall than accept their apology for a mistake in order. If you like, pm me and I'll transfer you £10 and you can ask the mods to remove this thread.

BEB You want sympathy? For a few missing sheets of balsa? This thread cracks me up!
  13. Posted by Peter Miller on 15/03/2017 11:06:45: I found the plan on Google. Looks quite a nice kit. The advice about EBay is good. Also, now that you are registered here put a notice on the appropriate thread so we can all watch it. You will find the builder on this Forum, that is for sure. I could even be interested in bidding myself!!!   could you put a link to the plan, Peter? I can't find it.But I like the model. Edited By ted hughes on 15/03/2017 13:16:27

  15. Posted by Martin Harris on 08/03/2017 22:46:38: I once tried an experiment with a 2.4 MHz module equipped radio. I flew a model as far and high from me as I was comfortable with and pointed the aerial directly at the model. There was no effect on control whatsoever... Futaba, I suppose?
  16. Posted by Phil Green on 06/03/2017 15:43:02: I wonder, has anyone ever had to have a Futaba RF board replaced? Futaba don't do faulty radios, so it is not an issue.
  17. I can't understand why, for the sake of 1 or 2 hundred pounds more, people are prepared to risk costly models (in time and money), when they could buy one of the reliable radios. Then they wouldn't have to worry about other user's reliabilty reports or after-service quality. Edited By ted hughes on 05/03/2017 14:45:50
  18. I always wanted one, but I remember they were very expensive.Still available and still too expensive!https://coxengines.ca/model-airplane-rc-kit-banana-standard.html Here's a build thread:**LINK** From the thread:You will not be disappointed, kit quality is like the old OK Pilot kits with a bit of touch (parts are machined and sanded to fit). On a O.S. 10 its a fun little rocket, on a Cox Tee Dee .049 it flies very graceful. Tee Dee .051 or .09 is a happy mid (Novel .074 would be awesome). When its out of fuel and its time to land, it glides forever (some have even converted this plane into a fun slope glider). With an .049 it weighs 550g ready to fly. 19. Posted by Nigel Day on 20/02/2017 20:08:43: Wow, fantastic. I hope you manage to stick with it Ted. Please let us know how you're getting on in a week or two? Hello Nigel, I am pleased to report that after 2 weeks and a bit I am doing fine, still quit, and more determined than ever never to start that nonsense again!
  20. Scrappage scheme proposed:**LINK**
  21. Oh, I get it now. Here's another article on it:**LINK**
  22. I'm not tryin to be difficult, but from Cymaz's photo, all it is doing is obstructing airfllow through the cowl.
  23. I must admit the idea of baffles baffes me. How can restricting the airfow over the engine improve cooling?
  24. Well, that was a short visit!
