  1. I use a lot of Lemon DSM2/DSMX receivers in my models and almost all of them are bought from root729 who sell on eBay. Always arrive the day after ordering and quick to answer queries by email.
  2. I have have had a few problems with Hermes (or Herpes as I call them because you never know when they will turn up or if they will come back). A couple of items left by the green wheelie bin at the front of the house, despite the porch door being left open, "you were not in" cards left when I was sitting 25 feet away from the doorbell all morning. The worst example was a torque wrench I ordered from Amazon for 24 hour delivery, next day, no delivery, tracked the package and it was showing as delivered. Contacted Amazon and they were great, sent me a replacement and refunded the delivery charges. About five days later a neighbour who lives across the road and two doors down came over with a very wet package asking "is this yours?" Yes it was the torque wrench, it had been thrown over the garden gate about 20 feet into a hedge where it sat through several days of heavy rain, it was only found because my neighbour took advantage of a break in the weather to trim the hedge. I told Amazon what had happened and they paid for it to be sent back, not sure what use a wet torque wrench is though.
  3. Just been on the Hobbyking website and it now appears that it is possible to order items from the EU warehouse again.
  4. It's been a looooooong time since I used model diesel fuel but I'm not sure that you need medical grade materials if you are just going to run an engine on it and not drink it . Paraffin should be available from your local hardware store (the old fashioned type, not B&Q). Castor oil, Diethyl Ether and Isopropyl Nitrate are available from laboratory suppliers such as Fisher Scientific but you will need to shop around for the best prices. 5. Posted by Rich Griff on 11/01/2021 09:42:13: More than 1 model memory would be nice but I have very limited funds. Each model would be trimmed out with the tx trims, then adjusted mechanically, in theory at least. A note book with each individual models trim needs would surfice, but then again it's all down to cost really. Edited By Rich Griff on 11/01/2021 09:43:13 You could pick up a used dx6 or dx6i from the well known auction site and have it checked out by the Spektrum service guy at Al's hobbies. If you have more than one model which you fly regularly, you will soon get fed up of making the necessary trim adjustments every time you change model.
  6. Personally I would go for the DX6 as the DXS only has one model memory. The DX6 or DX8 are much more versatile.

  8. Posted by cymaz on 10/01/2021 11:33:39: ** Beware ** I ordered Chinese from a local place (won't name them) went to pick it up and as I was driving home, heard the bags rustling and moving!!! I thought what on earth is that? Has something gotten into the bag? I thought I could see a little pair of eyes peering out. I was driving so pulled over, I leaned forward, picked up the bag, put it on the passenger seat and there it was again, more rustling and little eyes looking out behind the ginger beef! I thought its got to be a rat or a mouse or something, so I carefully pulled the bag open... And there it was ... ... ... ... A Peeking Duck! That was a fowl joke!
  9. Before I retired I used to spend a lot of time using a PC with a desk mounted screen, separate single vision glasses were provided by my employer and worked fine. ( I think they are legally required to provide you with suitable computer specs if you need them). Since retiring, I find that varifocals generally work fine when using a laptop as I am usually looking down at the screen/keyboard rather than straight ahead as was the case when using the computer at work.
  10. I've worn varifocals for quite a few years and they are great, Remember though that all lenses are not created equal, cheaper ones will have poorer transitions between near and far sections and the near vision section may be small. My glasses have Zeiss high refractive index glass lenses. As part of a buy one get one free deal I once got a spare pair with cheaper high RI plastic lenses, they were so noticeably worse that I never wore them. Also, for the Zeiss lenses, the dispensing optician is required to take a lot more measurements of the relationship between your eyes and the glasses lens mount to customise each lens to your requirements. The only disadvantage is cost, £250 to £300 per lens. Wouldn't touch laser eye surgery, too many people have problems post surgery, mainly glare cause by bright lights which means it is almost impossible to drive safely at night. You can replace a duff pair of specs, you can't replace a damaged pair of eyes.

I can't imagine anyone from Taiwan regarding themselves as Chinese! But the government of the PRC certainly do regard Taiwan as part of their territory.
  12. Just been chatting with HK support online, they say it's caused by the new strain of Covid and shipping arrangements were fine, try ordering again later (like several weeks).
  13. Is everyone else having problems ordering from Hobbyking's EU warehouse? When I try to get a shipping cost it just says" There aren't any shipping options available at your location from this warehouse. Try providing additional address information or changing the warehouse. " I presume they are trying to sort out what documentation they now need to ship outside the EU.

Not sure if it’s worth investing in a single charger or spending the extra to get a dual charger. Wondering what brands or what advice anyone could give in regards to this. I’m very new so sorry if this is posted in the wrong section! Depends on a number of factors: How many batteries do you want to charge/discharge at any one time? What capacity and how many cells do the batteries have? I use 3S 3000mAh batteries and find a dual channel charger capable of 10W per channel discharge rate is adequate. Higher discharge rate would be better but I can discharge half a dozen batteries will little inconvenience should the weather change and prohibit their immediate use. 15. Posted by Lee Morton on 31/12/2020 17:21:54: Thank you both! I sorted the issue. When I put the battery in I was doing it upside down. So when I put it in with the wheels down it allowed me to bind the transmitter to the plane again. Strange tho that it would unbind! Sounds like the SAFE system objected to being powered up in an unusual orientation.
  16. Posted by kevin b on 22/12/2020 18:17:52: I'm hoping Santa brings me one of these to warm up my workshop. I don't think it would be long before I had to take off my Xmas jumper. That model doesn't run on paraffin, requires vodka or gin to get it lit up.
  17. Check that the flight battery is fully charged. Check the transmitter batteries have sufficient charge, replace if necessary. Rebind the receiver to the transmitter.

Lagavulin single malt whisky Burnt Castrol R Keil Kraft or any other make of Diesel fuel Freshly applied dope Swarfega Hypoid Gear oil Creosote. Bacon sandwiches Feel free to add. Unless the Council are paying for your care home all you will be able to smell is burning £50 notes
