  1. There is a 96"span Dc3 balsa build on the forum. Robin Fowler design, the specification is just over 9 lb two 3s 4000 batteries , inexpensive small motors. And it's fitted with retracts. It can be done.
  2. Not a Tempest but an interesting paint scheme for a Typhoon. This one is painted to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D Day
  3. Just looked up the CMPro Mosquito on YouTube and it looks too short making the fuselage look porky, the nacelles look oversize probably to accommodate the motors fuel tank and retracts. Mine are wrong too the front lower cowls are Spitfire.
  4. The lower wing sheet is Hobbycraft foamboard and the top sheet is Maker foam board as it is easier to form.
  5. That's why I made mine from depron and foamboard same size less than half the weight. At present uses 2 3s 3000. It would be better about 60" with a single battery. I tend to fly the 110 more as it is one piece, twice as many flights with the same batteries and I can hand launch it myself. Now I have the dolly I will see how the Mosquito goes from that.
  6. A grumpy old bachelor I used to work with refused to contribute to a collection for someone getting married. He used to say I'm not paying into something I have no chance of getting a return.
  7. Nice Geoff, some details please.
  8. I would also like the Warbirds Bf 110. .but no chance of that still I have the Ju88 which I built as an A4 bomber, it will soon be in the air now the strip has been cut.
  9. Any twin about 60" span will fly on a single lipo if built light. I know my Whirlwind and 110 are made from foamboard and depron but a balsa model could be made almost as light if no undercarriage is required. My son built this 110 from a scaled down Brian Taylor plan. It is 58" span and had 2 small Axi motors pre lipo it had an 8cell Nmh battery, great flyer. I made my depron and foamboard version from the same plan. Mine has two Racestar 3536 950kv and a 3s 3000 battery.
  10. I've always been a fan of extra aeroplanes 😃
  11. I just use high rates for taxi and take off, and low for normal flying depending on conditions. Don't think my brain can remember where all the switches are.😄
  12. Another day at the field with the Warbirds FW190 and Hurricane + the BT Corsair 9.30 am till 4.30. Not as warm as yesterday but good flying weather. A good turn out again quite a lot if banter, 16 batteries to charge, took more but it started spitting on to rain which stopped when we reached the car park.
  13. After many flights with mine I'm happy with belly landings, It's flying so good I don't want to change anything.
  14. Some pictures of the FW190 today, Thanks to Mark Croucher. VID-20240420-WA0006.mp4
  15. Notice Kevin I said sunny day, a rare sight. More chance of seeing the Northern lights up here.
  16. Great day's flying today with the Warbirds FW190 and the Brian Taylor Corsair. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
  17. I normally spot quotes like that Ron, must be slowing up in my old age. Or it could be the excitement of a sunny day and light wind, the first since Easter and the rush to go flying.
  18. Skoda guarantee a new battery for 3 years providing the mileage is between 18,000 and 60,000. I was under 18,000 but as the car had been stored for 5 months before I bought it they covered me. I would have done many more miles but my son moved back with me, so a round trip of 800mls. 4 times a year at least and the awful weather we have had for last year and this year so far has kept the mileage low. My last car a Mercedes B class 2ltr done 90,000 mls in 10 years before the battery died.
  19. In 2021 I bought a new Skoda Octavia 2ltr automatic, it was pre registered in March of that year, I bought it in the August and it had 6miles on the clock. I used it a lot initially doing 2 long journeys. Then back in my normal routine driving to the field which is 1mile away and the supermarket which is 2.5 miles. The start stop ceased to work and other related functions like the door lock sensors also stopped working. A message came up to run the car to charge the battery which I did, things improved but a few days later back to square one. I took it back to the dealer who said I was not doing enough miles. They took it in, said I had to leave it overnight, next day all was fine, two days later no stop start. Despite numerous complaints they suggested I buy a charge to charge it overnight. I did not and lived with the situation as I didn't do many miles. However 2 months before the warranty expired the battery died whilst in the supermarket. I got a jump start which got me home. Ringing Skoda help an engineer came out with a new battery and ran a diagnostic test on the battery which showed the history and it had been under capacity from when I took delivery of the car. He fitted the new battery and programed it to the car. Since then no more trouble and I still do the low mileage.
  20. Same place as mine, it's remote controlled so it doesn't need one. Having said that the canopy is removable to fit one at some time.
