Messy two stroke engines, have they got any better?
Rich Griff replied to martin collins 1's topic in All Things Model Flying
Skin friction perhaps ? By that I mean fuselage skin friction, not your hand. -
Wanted, anything COX really, in particular peewee fuel tank

Ever thought of an exhaust extension....only *mess* seen on starboard half of tailplane but tiny amounts of residue on fuz starboard and wing central area starboard. More muck from flying site really... The extension I made does not seem to reduce engine power or cause issues....a 40 sized aerobatic wot 4 lookalike ish.... Saving for a petrol..... Enjoy -

Hi Jd8, see pm just sent.... -
Yes, sceptre flight, been going for some time now, even mention on here from time to time. Still a good find thought. 👍

However, lots of bells and whistles, more complexity, fiddle factor, buttonitice and " lack of old school mechanical set up" resulting in electronic trimming needed, by virtue of a complicated multi function, lots of switches computer tx, mmmmmmmmm. Not sure what tx John used, but he did state I think, that he set up plane *old school * mechanically wise, the proper way ? Will re read thread......later, burning sunshine on here..... Have a great day.

Thread drift !!! 🤓😁👍😠😭🥳🤣😎🤔😸 The culprit/reason for the unplanned arrival has been identified, probably. Radio failure was not the problem, probably... "My" faith in futaba reinforced !!! It was never in doubt really 👍

So was the servo arm slippage on the servo output shaft caused by the crash, or by aileron deflection from an external source during flight ? Was the servo arm the correct arm for that servo ? Same effective spline diameter and number of splines, or worn components ? Glad you have found the culprit. So so glad it's not a *futaba fault*. Hopefully futaba controlled planes falling out if the sky will be due to " operator error ", which could be a very very long list...... A servo arm slipping with a relatively large *torque* force applied, one might expect a *aileron to control horn interface* failure or servo mounting ( less likely I would have thought ) failure..... May I ask, what is the aileron structure ( solid balsa, no ply reinfirment, built up aileron structure ? ) and any sign of failure due to aileron movement whilst no control horn movement ? Aileron hinges come into play.... Anyways, cause found, only limited damage to aircraft, and a reminder for us all to "check, check, check", and probably check again. Absolutely brilliant weather again. Cheers John.

Hi Jd8, yes please just waiting for internet, one min wait for pm..... -
Wanted, anything COX really but in particular, a peewee 20 fuel tank for modification. Anything Cox, stuck solid or filthy, prestige examples would be too expensive for me besides I enjoy bringing them back to life. Even parts and odds.... So if you have had enough of that stuck solid little gem, please post a reply with a picture. I am not a shop or wheeler dealer, just a Cox fan. Is there a covered in castor gum broken pt19 out there I wonder.....? Any pt19 parts ? Thanks...

Compression ratio and its associated problems/advantages....

Have a look on sceptreflight, it may show components.

See Cox engine forum about lub for these little jems.

Os10 "pet" RC, cannot see "pet" on engine in your pictures... Nice price for the Magnum...
-
Dam, may I ask ( cheeky I know ) how much it sold for please, more than £45 plus what ever postage involved ? Has the RC "pet" sold please ? If not, any pictures please ?

Thanks ed .... Nice one....td049 or larger in the viper...? Pm me so we don't get "told off" for poluting/thread drift, or start a new thread even. I am sure others will be interested. Good article on TV this morning about lipo's.....but that's a whole other bag of bitter lemons and we'll worth a new thread all if it's own....lest we forget... Shark face is only one of the RC models a cox 049 with drag around the sky....remember kk nitrex 15 ?
-
Hi engine doctor, in your Cox box, might you have any td09 bits and bobs, or even medalion 09 bits ? ?
-
Yes, goto dens model supplies.... Fuel pick up pipe and spring, for full tank run not control line. Even RC back plates are available, check on Cox engine forum for suitability.... Larger Cox tanks available, or, sacrifice the small tank with suitable hole and run fuel pipe to "external tank" of larger capacity..... Cox engine forum.....

Hi edge, Could any of these engines be sent via post after payment received ?? Pictures of os rC pet, Os max 15 and Magnum xl15a please along with a description of same please Thanks in advance rich

The rcc test is free and can be "sat" many many times, until you achieve 100 percent ten times in a row, if you wish. Do you read the 'highway code' book from time to time as a "refresher" ? If you do, jolly good show.... If you don't......some of you may never have....... Just take the rcc test and get that all important bit of paper.....and file it. NO, not in the bin..... Take care out there, safe flying is no accident.
