  1. Well I like to be different! F22 and F15 both have twin fins leaning outwards. Mine have assymetric profiles and didn't fit the wing cutouts the other way.
  2. Finally made some progress. Got the fins on after some reshaping and carved a rear " canopy". Worked out that the original builder had the fins reversed.
  3. Thanks for those replies. I couldn't see any jumpers or tracks on the board or any way to change the spring actions so I've drawn a blank. I had read those posts and tried all possible permutations of buttons to no avail.
  4. I have a v949 drone with wltoys tx in mode 1 and I would like mode 2. Does any6knoe if it can be changed either internally or through its function switched? The top left button usually does change modes in this type of tx but on this particular one it cycles through throttle power ranges. The board inside says mode 2 in one too corner and mode 1 in the other. The LCD screen says mode 1 as though it should. Be changeable.
  5. I use pu glue. Put it in the cracks , sparingly, cover with paper based masking tape with maybe a few pinholes. Leave 12 to 24 hours for glue to expand. Sands quite well but strengthens very well. Lightweight too unlike epoxy.
  6. Denis thanks for that link. The original night Vapor servos are integrated in the control board. With luck microservos have similar gears or can be used instead using the same connection plugs
  7. I need to find new gears for the 2bservos on the Night Vapor control board. The motor pinions are ok but I need the gears they mesh with. Any ideas?
  8. Just make sure you mask surrounding areas with tape as the foam gets into everything and wear disposable gloves as it's highly irritating to skin and eyes. The only way of cleaning off excess that I've found is with cellulose thinners
  9. Good thinking! Any pics? How did you deal with running thick wires through the fuse and wings?
  10. Yes I baulked at £40 for 2 inrunners as I only paid £1 for the airframe! If the 2 cell lipo lacks thrust from the 480s, I am going to try out an intelligent lion battery which is a 4 cell pack of Samsung 25R 18650 2500mAh High drain cells (rated 20amp continuous) but with a built in charger/input/ output electronic device that can output 9 volts. On a 2 s lipo at 7.4v the current draw is 26amps at WOT on 5.5x4.5 props. I will also try 6x4 props when they arrive. it looks like with lithium cells there will be room for a weighty pack to balance the model.
  11. Shaun Thanks for clarifying that. I assume the normal prop on the CW motor has to be put on the hub "backwards" so that it thrusts to the rear. I've never really used rear motors before!
  12. That's excellent thanks for your help. 2 of each type ordered to keep spares or options open. Well done Steve Webb! Cost less for four with post than a drive to a model shop.
  13. Setting up my brushed 480 motors in a Multiplex Twinjet.I need APC ELECTRIC PUSHER PROPS 6X4 for a twin multiplex Twinjet with the motors running one CW when looking from the tail of the model IE at the prop. The other runs CCW . I can find reverse rotation but not normal rotation pushers. Any ideas where to get these or should I just run both motors in reverse?
  14. Slow progress. Balsa keel removed and motor wires installed for motor installation.
  15. New and untouched this is the rolled full size plan and CNC wood cut parts from Sarik Hobbies for the 54 inch Flycatcher from the RCME August 2015 article. Currently £117 at Sarik so asking £70 posted. Payment by PayPal possible. Pictures are the finished model not the kit.
  16. Does anyone have the August 2015 RCME and/or the flycatcher plan? I have a wood set but no article. Happy to pay a few quid plus post as Sarik want £14. Thanks
  17. Mercury Picador control line with AM 15 diesel. Doped tissue. Flew nicely 1960 I think. Amazingly now rekitted. £60!! Mine probably 7/6. Had various Keilkraft rubber powered and gliders. The Nomad I remember. Our first Jetex model took off and caught fire, flying off in flames. Yes Jetex pretty unreliable. My brother built a Mercury Matador with a homemade Rx suspended on rubber bands with a DC Sabre I think. At 48 inch seemed huge back in the day. I don't remember it ever flying but was a display piece! Isn't the Internet amazing?
  18. First stage, remove old decals and fill holes using pu foaming glue covered with paper tape to allow curing without over foaming. Next the nacelles had been badly glassed and need sanding and filling. I've glued the nose back on and am working on removing the old balsa stiffener that was in several parts anyway, as I need access to the hollow motor wires bay. I removed the old plastic " inner tube" as it too was cracked . I will need to think around that.
  19. Acquired in a pretty much written off state but I like the Multiplex Twinjet and a challenge. This one like many seems to have suffered attempts to overpower it so lots of holes, breaks... Still "In for a penny in for a pound", which is what I paid. I am going to use matched 480 contrary running brushed motors and single ESC, but a 2 or 3 cell small lipo.
  20. These foldable camera drones seem good value for starters compared to DJI equivalents. Has anyone experience of flying one?
  21. I had an email from CAA saying under the new rules everyone needs a flyer I'd with the online theory test. I did mine easily enough. My drone operator is renewal comes through every July but my bmfa renewal is January. I just pay up as requested.
