  1. Go on Tony, you've convinced yourself!
  2. Thats a beaut. Dont make em like that anymore. The Viscount was another beautie - lovely big windows!
  3. Tony, like the idea of a VC10 but can you replicate the bypass jet noise!?The Trident looks great by the way.
  4. Looks luvly Tony. Used to fly on shuttle Tridents regularly when I worked for BEA. I worked on the pitch computers for the Cat 3 autoland system. Halcyon days!
  5. Oh dear. Looking at LM comments yet more psychodelic jets. Think I might start going to full size displays! Friday might be good thought and waterplane events are nice and peaceful - not many jets off water!
  6. Yeah. Weston is good but Manchester One Love was the ultimate. No beating that!
  7. I think that was my point - shows need agood mix to entertain family crowds.
  8. Seems to be the way things are going. By all accounts Greenacres is heading in that direction, jets, sponsored teams, flying slots - where is the relaxed club flying going to end up? We cant all afford jets and whopping big 3D petrol jobs! Heres hoping Weston has all the usual mix and bonhomie although I shall miss Mr Bishops commentary!
  9. Welldone Cymaz. Its clubs that make the BMFA, not national flying centres!!
  10. Thanks Ken and Paul for the pics and all that info. Now to get my half finished Cirri back on the build bench!
  11. I was just about to ask if this was from Paul's planfrom RCM n E a few years back. Shamefully mine is still on the project bench ! I must get my finger out!
  12. Loved the Shakespearian atmosphere. Dianna's ghost was almost Macbeth - very dramatic. Good stuff from the Beeb.
  13. Have to agree. Ive had 2 World Models Mustangs since 2000, one still flying. Service and staff are great - I look forward to visiting the shop and having lunch in one of Frodshams great selection of Cheshire pubs!
  14. Too far for me Im afraid although I will be at the Nats this year, health holding up. I try and visit local fly ins, Delyn, Greenacres, Rhyl etc but Buckminster for a day out - no way.
  15. As per my post - its not just the multi rotor flyers who dont understand the regs but a lot of innocent 3rd parties open to 3rd parties eg campsites andcaravan sites, festivals etc. We need to educate them as well. They could well endup on the end of privacy intrusion claims and more bad publicity for us law abiding fliers.
  16. Well thats cheered me up no end. The gas oven beckons!
  17. Similar situationat Ullswater last weekend at the waterplane splash-in. Outfit turnedup Friday night with a teenager and young boy. Cameback from walking the dog and theres teenager with Phantem over the campsite and my tent! Righteous indignation from me and his mum aint happy . I think afterwards that he was on the autistic spectrum but i was not to know. But the law still applies. I spoke to the campsite and told them about the drone code and how to get hold of it. They were unaware but had a previous incident of "privacy incursion" the week before. We are fighting a hard battle.
  18. Spent weekend at Ullswater. What a gas ! Flew mY Seawind off water , first timer with help from the guys there. Lovely weather, campsite superb. Great atmosphere. Superb scenery complete with RAF flypasts, Tucanos and Hawks on Monday morning. Completely hooked. Thanks Windermere Waterplane Flyers. See you in May. Geoff.
  19. BEB. My friend calls it "life's rich guano heap". Sometimes seems more appropriate!
  20. Kings Head at the foot of the Orme, by the tramway station. Great food, open fire, realales, what more could you ask!. Also dog friendly.
  21. Sad fact is that people ie customers invariably remember the bad stuff, good stuff is the expected! I will carry on using Webbies and Airtek and 4Max because of good service and they go the "extra mile". A bad experience would send me elsewhere. Sorry KLMS also very good and of course Just Engines.
  22. Everyone's forgetting that this pilot was criticised the year before for cavalier flying at the Southport airshow. Smoke and mirrors and I know the AAIB cant apportion blame but lets see what the coroner now reports at the inquest.
  23. Boy was it good. Looking forward to next week.
  24. Oh. Trevor - too many models. Know the problem but just can't part with them! OCD again!
  25. I keep one, started 7/8 years ago, just a short log. Date, which plane, how many flights and brief weather info. Also any damage picked up, changes made. If nothing else its proved to me that weather systems have changed over the years. Certainly last years number of windy days. But im sure I must be Ocd as well!
