Thats what i did with the drab olive, got it scanned and matched at bnq, they came up with "Deep canyon" which to me still don't look right. To brownish, and then RW changes the colour to " wood pigeon " which looks about right, 🤔 any further thoughts chaps?? Much appreciated Graham. ( cornwall) -

Eric thanks, i need a green to do / match - what they used during WW II, as i have a 64" Mk 9,and several other refurbs- kits to do. Need to get a good match 👍 Note: i tried the Guild - olive drab matt, then over sprayed with : "aerokote" for a gloss finish, it pickled, should have stuck with the bnq match pots. Hence need to find the right match. -

Looking good Richard, having bought a pot of "ballina" I've now got to get a wood pigeon ! 😉 -
Richard, i'll go with the macchi 202, with retracts maybe flaps, slightly larger will do for me, as i'll be doing an i/c version, not for you to worry about. Will look up Brians build thread 😉 Btw: can you sort out the bloody weather : wind and rain . Much appreciated Graham ( Cornwall) 😉👍

Is this one going to be a bit bigger,? think you mentioned it somewhere along the line, Razor back for me "snafu" 👍

Flyer The method when using brown paper, is to paste it, wait 1 min for it to grow, then apply it wet, so when ironed on it shrinks like appling any film covering, this adding strength to the model. Using a cheap pva - it'll be watered down more, not good as bubbles the paper. Bye a quality brand 😉 and dilute about 5%, Richards just done a write up on this on another thread.

Anybody ever tried wallpaper paste, as in the stuff thats already mixed in a tub, talking about on the brown paper, instead of the pva mix. Just a thought as i have a tub on the shelf.

Looking good Richard, very much tempted, would have to be an i/c version for me which will aid with the nose weight, plus retracts of course. 👍 -

Could someone tell me where Rons weathering/panel line video is please, or provide a link. Many thanks Graham (Cornwall) I actually thought Eric was going to do one, as he mentioned it on the brown paper vid. -

Ron Just watched your demo video, well done mate, its so easy, i've been using this method since being introduced to it by Richard. Looking forward to the "weathering/panel lines" video, to see what techniques you use 😉 -

Thin your pva to the consistency of milk, paint onto the dull side of brown paper, wait at least 30secs for paper to " grow" , apply to surface smoothing out from middle with cloth, i use a travel iron dry to iron on, yes there will be some steam given off. Note pva reacts to heat. Edges can be given another brush of pva ironed flat to help stick down, i then leave overnight to thoroughly dry. Fine sand with very fine wet n dry used dry. To get rid off hairy feeling. Then i coat with thinned dope to seal the surface, before primming, this step isn't necessary. And rub down again . Just my method of finishing. 👍
