  1. Thanks MattyB. Just found the plan on outerzone. Sounds like it was a case of style over function... I will stick some gear in it and give it a go! **LINK** Cheers, Simon
  2. Hi Chaps. I have kindly been given this today. Any ideas as to what it is please? Its around 36" (90cm) wingspan and looks like it might be fun when I get some gear in it . Cheers, Simon
  3. Top tip on the grooved balsa Peter, I will try that next time Cheers, Simon
  4. Lovely bit of litho work going on there, watching with great interest! Cheers, Simon
  5. Love SLEC, always great service and top quality and well graded balsa.
  6. Lovely little OS Max 10...... Which brick wall did it fly into? **LINK**
  7. Well done Danny, its a gorgeous little model. I have an annoying twitch that happens when handling anything that delicate. I would love to have a go - I just know I would snap all the ribs and spars and end up with a pile of scale matchwood! Cheers, Simon
  8. 42. Thanks for the link, makes a change to have an aeroplane based quiz thingy on ta internet.
  9. On the canopy front you could try the 'shrunken plastic bottle over a carved buck' technique - link to youtube video here **LINK** of somebody having a go. I have used it many times and although at first it is a bit experimental, once you get the hang of 'chasing the shrink' around your buck with your hot air gun it is really satisfying and cheap to do. Here is one I made for my Acrowot using a 'value' bottle of lemonade. I think it cost about 15p to make! The lemonade went down the sink though - it was vile....... The other is a much smaller model, a Jetex powered Firebird but you get the gist of whats possible. Cheers, Simon
  10. Hi Chaps. I am currently putting a P6 together and am at the point of putting the cross brace in front of the flight pack in before reinforcing and boxing in the top of the fuse. It strikes me that the small space at the front of the brace is perfect for any ballast needed in the nose - and would be totally impossible to get to after it is boxed in. My friend has built one and said to put 2 or 3oz of lead in there first. Has anybody else done this to theirs - if so how much ballast was required? Many thanks, Simon
  11. 'RC Aeroplane salvage' - Just the front half though! **LINK** Cheers, Simon
  12. Some great Hi-tec HS300 servos here......... well some bits of them anyway! **LINK**
  13. Thank you so much - A power panel arrived a few days ago thanks to RCM&E. Got me in trouble though 'What have you been ordering now ?' was the reaction. For the first time I was innocent!!!! Cheers, Simon
  14. Beautiful model engineering, thanks for sharing. Edited By mightypeesh on 10/08/2016 11:15:53
  15. Reminds me of one of my gliders - one minute it was happily mooching around - the next plumeting hundreds of feet to the ground.........
  16. Just a few pics of her flying yesterday to finish off this thread. She really is not a big model - where as I am the opposite! Getting away easily with the .25 fitted. She mooches around on less than half throttle once she gets up there. Once again thanks for all help and comments with this project Cheers, Simon
  17. Hi folks, thanks for the info. I will cycle it a few times and use a club mates load tester to check it out. Cheers again, Simon
  18. Hi folks. I managed to very succesfully park a model at the top of a tree for a couple of weeks before it eventually came down thanks to the help of some club mates with very little damage - thanks chaps. It has an enloop rx pack that was obviously switched on this whole time so was rather on the dead side by the time I got it back. Just out of curiosity I popped it on a very low charge and to my suprise it is taking it no problems at all. My questions are, A; can I trust this pack now, and B; Is there an easy way of testing it with a small load? Cheers, Simon
  19. Great footage. I did not ever think I would get hanger envy! Thanks for sharing
  20. Thank you to all the help and pointers I have received on this build and for the advice with tuning the engines which has been a steep learning curve for me from which I have learnt a great deal. This is my most complicated own design and build to date and am so chuffed to have had a successful outcome. Cheers, Simon
