Colin Anderson
I've been out of modeling for a long time and many things have changed! I used to fly rubber, gliders and my favourite was C/L. R/C was out of my pocket! If I were to buy just one book on R/C, which would be the best or most comprehensive? I'm looking for something that describes building techniques, choice of engine and equiptment, as well as flying and rules etc.
Ultymate
Hi Colin, can't be much help on the book issue but if you still have an interest in C/L you may find this site interesting Barton C/L

Colin Anderson
Thanks Ken. We're not related, are we? Just kidding! building and flying radio controlled model aircraft or radio controlled model aircraft? I see that Waterstones have both listed on their site (among others), but they are not in their shop; so I can't get a look inside them. Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Colin, they are both excellent - a little dated - but they cover the basics really well, and for the latest updates you have this forum! Purely personal but I've always liked "Building and Flying..." and have read it several times! BEB
001
Have a look at R/C Sports Aircraft from scratch by Alex Weiss, published by Nexus. (176 pages). It covers just about everything, except scale with no complicated mathematics. For rules, the BMFA handbook is the one.
Allan Bowker
Hopefully you buy or subscribe to RCM&E magazine? I'd say that everything you have asked above has been covered in the last 18 months and more. Subscribers can view back issues online for free! Bargain! Ernie
Hi Colin, I wonder if you really need a book. I do agree it's good to have one, they are fine things. But there is so much information on the web. I just download pages about my current interest, and file it away. For scale bits, and a good inspiring read, you cannot beat Gordon Whitehead's Scale Aircraft Hey, welcome back ernie
