Myron Beaumont
DW Nice one & it says to me -Never trust anyone in a suit ! Wonder if there's actually any truth in what was said ---Over to you Timbo!!
Pete B
I've seen it before and still not impressed - if that's what a company feels it needs to do to regain market share.......... Pete
Delta Whiskey
I agree it's not good marketing, but in the political world it seems it's common place and the only agruement they all seem to have in slagging off the rivals ! On a tecnical note though, why do speckies need to have a satelite ? Ok for carbon fuz's etc but in general?Edited By Delta Whiskey on 17/03/2010 15:50:
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Perhaps Spektrum are missing a trick here? They could do an advert that says: "Look at this Futaba receiver - it costs £70. Wow. Now at Specktrum we sell you two recievers for £40"! Mmmmm, perhaps not. Delta Whiskey
£51 now, cheapest I found (617) - UK too I may add !
andy watson
I think it's am American advert, where knocking the competition is accepted rather than the way we do things.
birdy
Amusing, but it doesn't highlight any real advantages with Futaba, and I'm the one paying for that to be made....
Delta Whiskey
One obvious advantage is not the need for a satelite reciever ! From above......: "On a technical note though, why do speckies need to have a satelite ? Ok for carbon fuz's etc but in general?" Josip Vrandecic -Mes
How "naive" of advertisement.du not shoot we,we are only the modellers, and we need cheaper good RX. Myron I agree-never trust MIB !
Delta Whiskey
I saw some idiot bidding & winning a 606 FSST RX on ebay last week and paying £68 for a used one, and it was not even the 617 version that is around £51 last time I checked NEW ! Some people do amaze me with their lack of research - why pay more for a second hand RX than a new one costs !
John Privett
Beats me too, DW! I recall seeing people a while ago buying (new) servos from Hong Kong on ebay. And happily(?) paying more for them than the same servo would have cost at their local model shop - or indeed via mail order from Inwoods, Als, SMC etc. if they didn't have a nearby shop. Not to mention also having to wait a week or more for delivery from China.
Artistic-Aero
Its a parody of the Apple adverts.... Futaba obviously see themselves as equal 'innovators'. Bit of a daft comment about 'me paying for it' ! Hilarious. Its just a bit of fun..... you have the more serious corporate ads and web sites for the technical info. Lighten up!
