David Ashby - Moderator
Do you mean how many post are made every day Ken? Well it varies depending on day of the week etc. but say between 150-300, sometimes a bit less on the very quieter days. Forum membership stands at 17850 right now. David Ashby - Moderator
Naturally the number of daily visits (many visitors look but don't post) and page impressions (there's lots more to see here than just the forum) are massively higher. Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Hate to give you extra work but could you give us any idea of the pecentage of contributors to those who just "look" at the forum specifically - or is that very difficult to know? Tim Mackey
Wild guesstimation Dave - I would say we get probably at least 100% more "lurkers" than actual posters - of course, this is a fluid figure, as many of those lurkers eventually pluck up courage and actually contribute which is fine - and normal on most forumsAnd, as David says, many people use the site without necessarily using the forum - although we would hope that the forum section is the main pull. Tim Mackey
17851 as of a few minutes ago. According to my stats, an average of around 7 join every day, and today alone ( up to 23.55 ) 10 have joined. A couple of those today have even made their first posts already
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
I think I remember hearing that BMFA membership was about 30,000? I know that not all flyers are members of BMFA - and of course there is the SAA. But if we assume, say 35-40,000 flyers in the UK then at nearly 18,000 forum members that's pretty close to 50%! And growing!! BEB
Klippy
Beb, I think you'll find that a quite a lot of members and lurkers (myself included) are Brits, resident overseas who need a bit of sanity in their lives. I find this site makes me glad I'm a Brit.
David Ashby - Moderator
As you'll know, the number of members online is displayed at the bottom of the main forum page but that doesn't include non-members which, as Tim says, is a good 100-150% higher. Most popular area is the forum with the classifieds, events listings, competition page and review section also seeing a lot of views. The membership fig includes substantial overseas numbers and again, many watch but don't partake in the forum. In any one month about 80-85% of activity is UK based with the number of highest visits then coming from the USA, then Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Canada, Netherlands, Italy and Sweden. Plenty of visits from far away places in the last 4 weeks ........ 222 visits from Russia 37 from the Falkland Islands. 54 from Chile 149 from Japan 1 from Mongolia 37 from Iran 1 from Greenland Edited By David Ashby - RCME Administrator on 10/11/2010 06:57:
