Phil Cooke
Thought I'd make a start for 2011, to replace the 2010 thread of similar title - Can a friendly Forum Moderator please unstick the 2010 thread and make this sticky in its place? David Gilder
Well once again it looks like it is going to be a year of "NO WIND"!! With the Ribble Valley Event cancelled due to no wind and the rescheduled date also cancelled for No Wind, I have just done a check on the forcast for the 1st Llandudno Meet and again it looks like the most wind will be from those who have beans for their breakfast!!!!! Does anyone have a hotline to the Wind Gods?? Pleae ring them quick!!! On a + side... Its PERFECT weather for Heli Flying!!! (ducks before the sticky buns find their target!!) I'm sure Phil will be along soon with an update - and if we DO cancel, it will be flagged up here later next week.

stephen wenban
CAC Boomerang Phil already drawn up I always seem to get carried away ,I was going to only build a 60" version but for reasons best know to my Calculator It ended up at 80 inches (force of habit) this will be closely followed by a Heinkel 100D Edited By stephen wenban on 31/05/2011 00:58:

Phil Cooke
...and for those that haven't flown with us on the Lleyn Peninsula before, it offers some of the best coastal sites in the UK, with slopes flying ALL compass directions within a small area. The cliff top slopes and landing zones are perfect for PSS - heres a couple of most recent event write ups with photos and video to give you a feel of the event. PSSA MAY 2009 and PSSA AUGUST 2009 Hope to see you there!
Phil Cooke
At this range the forecast looks most promising for this weekends planned PSS event upon the Lleyn peninsula, with 'more than adequate' winds blowing from the SW! Timbo has kindly produced a most useful spreadsheet (giving each slopes GPS coordinates for Sat Navs) and a road map showing all the sites used by the Lleyn MAC (linked here with permission - many thanks Tim) relative to the Llanbedrog meet point. FLYING SITE GPS REFERENCE FLYING SITE MAP Please download these files and use them accordingly upon your arrival this weekend. Phil Cooke
Forecast on SKY is suggesting Sunday is best with clear sunny spells and strong Westerly winds, Saturday is perfectly flyable with good SW winds, but looks like we might be overcast most of the day with the odd shower maybe... Sunday looks a winner!!! Glad youve got the pass out Kev
