David Gilder
I remeber that episode like I had only just watched it. It must have been 20 years ago in reality though!!!! Looking forwards to the build. Dave

Chris Bott - Moderator
Brilliant! Well done Tony. That Anderson bloke knew a thing or two didn't he? Just the atomic engines to perfect now. I can see your biggest issue being the weight of the EDF's at the back, needing everything else right at the front to get the C/G. But at least you know a good C/G now. Tony Bennett
cog on the chuck glider is just 1/3 of the main wing.so it will be a balancing act with batteries, servo's and the rest to keep it in balance.
Chris Bott - Moderator
Where's the elevator control going to be Tony? Conventional at the back? Or Canard using the front winglet.
Tony Bennett
canards for the elevator control.ailerons on the main wing.conventional rudder.retracts now if i could build 3 remote control elevator cars like in the thunderbirds episode. Chris Bott - Moderator
Taking off from three cars would be impossible enough. Landing on three - that I would like to see!

Chris Bott - Moderator
Two things:- 1. Looks like Thunderbirds might be go for a new series. By Gerry Anderson thank goodness. Thunderbirds new series 2. Here's 8 minutes from the start of the Firefly episode. Careful, don't go getting too nostalgic now The whole long intro is here, I just remember the anticipation of a new episode so well!
Tony Bennett
mk2 test vehicle flown.i altered the rear to be more like the actual plane.bit of weight on the nose and she glides 20 to 30 ft from a hand launch. Edited By tony bennett on 05/02/2011 15:22:
Tony Bennett
The build begins.started on the lower front section of the fuselage today. first 3 formers cut out and glued in place.i have had to design a staggered joint so i can make the fuselage in 2 halves as 3' long balsa is not long enough. he he. Alan Cantwell
how about Zero X? that actually was an r/c model, in its comlete form, of coarse, not the lifting body joining up bit wishing you well with the Fireflash project, Tbird 2 has been done, it wallowed and dutch rolled like a drunk at 2 in the morning

Wolfie
Out of interest, whereabouts did the CG turn out on the chuckie?I guess the fuse must have considerable lifting effect.
Tony Bennett
on the chuckie the cog was 1/3 of the width of the main wing..yeah it's partly a lifting body.
