flyeruk
I have this os 46 that i was given a while ago. It runs really well but as you can see from the picture, the needle valve mounting is broken. I thought about jb weld but not sure if it could handle the vibration. Any ideas?
flyeruk
I have just seen the cover plate assembly is available for around £22.00. Would rather not have to spend that, but if its not repairable,i will have no option.

Engine Doctor
You can also fit a rear needle valve assy as fitted to the magnum/SC/ASP engines. You do have to elongate one of the holes by about 1mm. This comes as a seperate item and is held in place with the top two backplate screws, cost about a £5; and the local shop got one very quickly .The genuine OS part is not too expensive but I found in the past getting hold of it was a pain and took ages. The shop said it was down to "waiting for a sizable order" ! On that occasion I fixed the OS type using TechnoWeld and cancelled the order .Its an easy fix takes a few minutes. Ben B
JB weld would have sorted it. For extra fixage after the initial butt joint I would have coated over the top with more of the stuff to make an I beam type shape. But for £7 it seems simpler to just buy the spare part. A tube of JB is a fiver I seem to recall (although very useful!).
