Steve Jones 2
Hi all, so directions for the day are as follows: Location is at Patricks Farm, Meriden Rd, Hampton in Arden, Solihull B92 0LT. Its just off the B4102, through some large Green Coded gates. If closed then stop and ring me on 0781 4647 137 for the entry code. Once inside turn right into the lane and on until a set of silver gates, agai n coded which I will advise when you ring. Park with all the cars and walk up into the field. The format as last year will be a relaxed fly in with hopefully a little food at lunch. There will be other club members flying, several heli and they have been asked to give you all priority as guests for the day. Our flying times will be 11am until 6pm so i would aim for a pilot welcome brief at 10.30am Look forward to seeing you all, flyers and any interested spectators. Steve Jones 2
Well yet again we were blessed with the weather , plenty of sun and the wind down the strip, although a little gusty at times. A big thank you to those who attended, Numbers slightly down on last year but those who made it I hope had a great day..... Some pics .... The highlights for me were the mass same model fly offs - Gemini's, Mantis's and the mass Whippoff of Whippits Steve
Graham L
Many thanks to Steve and his fellow club members for the excellent fly in today. Graham L
**LINK** At Steves do I was asked by Chas & others if you could get the pre rotate head for my Cooler autogyro on its own. I know that when I built it over 2 years ago the guy in Malaysia would sell you the complete unit as a spare part. ( I also bought spare blades off him at the time). Please see the guys link above, his e mail address is towards the top of the site on the left in orange type. Seemed to be ok to deal with and when I ordered spare blades I just asked him to send me a paypal invoice which I just paid & the goods were sent. He also does other Autogyros as well including a small Cierva . Hope this helps Graham
Andy Nash
Thanks Steve for a fantastic days flying. How much did that weather cost! bright sky with only little clouds to block the sun when we needed it, and a perfect breeze. Top marks on the BBQ mate, thanks again for a very happy day of flying. David Parkes 1
Hello Steve. I should have the Burky repaired in time but have started building a Whippit, hopefully they should both be finished ready for Old Warden. Thanks for your help. Dave. Steve Jones 2
Hi Dave, Great the Burky is on the mend and even better news you have started a Whippit.... I really think the Whippit is the way to go at the moment , its such a great forgiving model which 'bounces' quite well too. Looking forward to 'Bubby boxing' with you at Old Warden to give you some more air time. Steve
Gyrocopter
I am sorry to report the passing of one of our members, Zane Horton of the Old Warden Club. Zane was an Autogyro enthusiast and some of you may remember his Panther fitted with an OS engine. I recall him coming to our OW get together and how delighted he was when rich flew it after fitting Rich H's blades. A super chap and I am pleased to have known him. Steve Jones 2
Yes I remember him well at your event Chas, a lovely modeller, so interested in all and grateful for help. May he rest smiling and please pass on my thoughts to his family Steve
Richard Harris
Chas, I also remember him, he was chuffed that his Panther took to the air. RIP Zane. Rich
Richard Elliot
Chas That is very sad news indeed, Zane was obviously a very enthusiastic modeller who I know will be greatly missed. Rich

Richard Elliot
I'm afraid I won't be able to make this one this year, it's in between night shifts for me, and a long way to travel, I'd have to leave just after I got there! Rich
