John Hannaford
Hi Folks, Just a quick straw poll to see if anyone else would like to build a bigger version of the WW35 West Wings BAe Hawk. I have asked them directly myself, but their response was that they needed more interest from their distributors. I interpret that as a demand from the buying public for the product to be relayed to the distributors and then to West Wings. So come on chaps lets buy British and put it together ourselves! Cheers John
Phill @ Elite Workwear UK
I want to have a go at building the current version first but then you never know... P
Reno Racer
i'd be very interested in that, especially if designed for flaps/retracts. it would fill a niece, if priced right between composite ones (from hobbyking to schuebler),foamy ones and the balsa 90-120mm edf AMD hawk. Peter Miller
90mm? A 3 1/2" span one? A balsa 3 1/2 to 4 3/4" EDF AMD Hawk.? Very interesting.
ben goodfellow 1
there is a lack of 90mm edf kits i have a cs 90 just waiting , i took it upon my self to try and design something "propper" ie not foam or super expensive composite but trad balsa with retracts flaps, full house controls ,i would be interested in 90mm hawk definately
Peter Miller
AH, Now i understand, we are talking about the size of the fan, I can't help it if I am thick
Myron Beaumont
Peter Don't tell us you don't know about fans ! You've more than anybody else on the forum
Peter Miller
I know! Pathetic, isn't it! But It is a bit like me saying my new design is for a 9" propeller!!
Myron Beaumont
Peter Don't you mean 9X2.54 cm ?
Peter Miller
No, I mean 9" X 6" or to be pedantic, 228.6 mm X 152.4 mm propeller!
Myron Beaumont
Peter Should have written "9 multiplied by 2.54" rather than "9x2.54 ".I couldn't be bothered to come up with the figure of 228.6 like your good self .A slight misunderstanding . Concorde Speedbird
I'd prefer a bigger Hunter just because I like the Hunter. CS
Peter Miller
Ah, The Hunter, Definitely the most beautiful jet bar NONE ever designed.
Reno Racer
a 90mm balsa Hunter is available from Traplet, Chris Golds design. Pricey though.

Peter Miller
Sorry CS, Bar None. Don't like that pointed nose version either
Concorde Speedbird
Very very very very very very nice, but there can only be one winner for me. CS
Reno Racer
For some reason, jets that are too pretty don't seem to do it for me. I prefer this as the sexiest jet ever.
Concorde Speedbird
The Lightning is just brilliant, one of my very favourites. This is probably my second favourite jet though (behind Concorde of course). CS
Reno Racer
CS, agree with the Harrier, but only the earlier ones, upto GR5, After that it became a real reliability pain, overweight, underpowered and at the end not liked by most her flew her. The concept is missed, but not later developed aircraft. I'm glad its gone and the Typhoon is much more capable and pilot friiendly.
Concorde Speedbird
I really like the Harrier, mainly thanks to her Duxford Autumn air show appearance in 2005, my first airshow. She was first up, and was simply incredible and blew the rest away. I've seen Tornados, Typhoons, Spitfires, and many many other planes including the Vulcan, yet nothing has entertained me more than the Harrier (I haven't seen Concorde fly). I wish there was still one flying in the UK, there's one flying privately in the USA and the US marines still use AV8's, but naturally the CAA jumps in the way, like that they won't let an EE Lightning fly either (perhaps because it can out-climb any plane in the RAF...) I actually miss them and wish the RAF had continued with them. The Typhoon is good, but the Harrier inspires me much more, and it doesn't need loads of computers to keep it up! Alexander Thomson
Yes, Count me in for a 90mm diameter Fan version of the WW Hawk, I realy like the quality of the West Wings kits, I have seen the original sized Hawk and for me it is too fast for the area I fly in, perhaps the larger version would have a lesser wing loading. Thanks for the personal thoughts on the other Great British Jet Aircraft, however, I was a little confused with the discussion on small wing spans?? Cheers regards to all, Al

Just a rather dim person who didn't realise that, while all other models are described by span it seems that ducted fan models are measured by fan diameter.
