Pete B
I take your point, Adrian, but if potential customers are getting the same response as those who have posted here, I don't think there's much danger of money changing hands... kevin b
Sorry Adrian, I totally agree with you, but the magazines have a problem there. If by some miracle the shop reopened on Monday, then if the magazines had pulled the plug, the shop owner would be quite within his rights to sue the magazines for breach of contract. As we all know life isn't fair. Damned if you do, damned if you don't and if you sit on the fence you find out it's sharper than a razor blade ! Neil Skull - Kyosho UK
I have to say that shops adverts stay in magazines sometimes years after they close. The magazines need to be informed about shops closing! I will try to let Graham know!
Allan Bowker
Last month I emailed the newspaper that reported this story, making them aware of this thread. To my surprise I received this letter a few days ago:
Adrian Smith 1
Wow what mess. Rightly or wrongly as I said above, mags that carry the advert, paid for or not, have some sort of duty of care to warn potential reader/customers of the folly of trying to do business with this outfit. Sometimes legal niceties need to be ignored to protect the consumer.
David Ashby - Moderator
I hadn't noticed their small box in small shop guide but I'll get it removed from the mag. I suspect they may have paid for a years worth of boxes and our ad' team haven't been informed.
