CAP 21

Recommended Posts

Looking good Gary, nice work!

I had been thinking about various schemes for mounting the motor, but am leaning toward something similar to your setup after having seen your pictures.

It was wondering if your motor was sitting too far back in the photos, but I guess with a prop adapter fitted your spinner will be in the correct position.

I made a start on my CAP 20 L by cutting myself some ply wing rib templates this weekend. I am in no rush with this build, but I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms after finishing my last build and finishing off my fleet refurb jobs.

Keep up the good work

Yes you are right Dave with the adaptor fitted it will be where it is needed. Had a look at your album your last build is very nice wink May have to do one .

Good to hear, thanks! I can recommend the Citabira Pro it is a nice aeroplane to build and it flies very nicely. I have flown it quite a lot now on a 300 watt setup which is quite adequate for this model.

I will be very interested in the all up weight of your build and wether your can manage to get the CG in the right place without resorting to adding nose weight. Hopefully you can manage this with the battery position.

cheers

KittingGary,

I have made a start on kitting up for my CAP 20 L build. I have a few more bits to make and then I need to sort out a power train to allow me to finalise the position of F1. I am thinking of a 550 watt setup and need to decide on wether to go for 3 or 4 s to allow me to select motor Kv to match a scaleish prop diameter at whatever pitch I need for that power at full voltage. I am leaning towards 4s to get the advantage of lower amps.

cheers

Hi Gary,

hope you had a great time in Italy.

I am progressing with my build. I have the first wing panel layed out on the board as a trial build. I need to sort out the installation of servos in the wing panel and find materials for the undercarriage hard points. I am not in any rush with this build as I don't have a lot of hangarage left, but I do like the look of yours and want to get this to a point where it can be finished fairly quickly in the event of any casualties in the fleet.

cheers

dave
