hi guys,

i hope you might be able to help me. i have recently taken a notion for getting a couple of vintage models flying, and then i thought it would be good to have suitably similar vintage Tx's to go with them. i am now the proud owner of 2 M4's and 1 M6. wiring in a FrSky module should be well within my capabilities but im going to have to do a bit more reading on the nano side of things.

So, my initial questions are

1/ where is the PPM signal in both the M4 and M6 for the hack module?

2/ ive got a basic understanding of the wiring and magic that happen in the nano, but im not sure how you get the 'code' into the nano. what software do i need on my pc? and is it just cut/paste job??

Just caught your post.

All the M4's and M6's I've converted have had damaged PCB's which is why I've got them cheap.

So can't help with PPM location I'm afraid.

Ragards Nano code upload, if you go to the Arduino website and download the Arduino IDE. All you do is write your code in the IDE, connect your Nano to your PC via USB and upload your code. Job done.

There are some Arduino versions that need more specialised upload leads/kit and there are ways to upload code that enables you to have access to more memory on the Arduino but don't worry about that until you have to.

Paul, did you ever sort out a PCB printer? I've been looking at direct-print-to-copper printers, seems that some users get away with any old CD/DVD printer and a pigment-based ink. Surely by now there must be a foolproof method of printing etch-resist without having to use the ink as a UV block?

Also been considering a cnc pcb miller but I dont think they're up to fine smt work. I wondered if you'd made any progress?

Replaced the sticks on my Futaba FX-30 today, I will be using it as a Camera and gimbal controller

two 3-axis sticks (with button on top) going to the PPM-converter, and into the (back of the) trainer-port of the FX-30

original sticks are removed.

could not just replace them, as the old ones did not travel the whole range of the potentiometers (1K min, 2,5K max) and to be able to calibrate..

Hi,I've purchased a frsky to convert some old transmitters.It all sounded simple with just 3 wire's to connect.Not so simple,it apears i need a ardunino to create ppm.I have an old Horizon hs6e,Macgregor 4 and Futaba M6.If you could point me in the right direction,maybe which Arduino and which script to use i would be very grateful.
