Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Hi John, re the dihedral - its very slight. I did build my wings with the dihedral but if I was doing mine again TBH I'd think seriously about not bothering to build the dihedral in! The model has very good lateral stability - which can't all be from the dihedral because its so small. BEB
john stones 1 - Moderator
Cheers BEB Flat table, flat wing, my kind of model plus it'll bunt better John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Slower progress now, work's interfering Sheeted my boat up, it makes a very sturdy fuzz front, had it all dry fitted on table looks to be straight Done a bit of sheeting to rear of wing panel and fitted tip, i'm thinking 1/16 ply strip laminates around wing tips. Have seen some Ali tape I might use for fuzz front, might look good with silver wings and reddish fuzz I also fancy some exhausts that others have done, i'll steal anybodys ideas me

john stones 1 - Moderator
Finished early today so managed to do a bit, wings ready for joining then cap strips, built ailerons out of light stock. Spot the mistake on my boat, plans clear enough.
john stones 1 - Moderator
Tail feathers all sanded up and rudder hinged. I'm pleased with them Bit of luck will be ready for next weekend.
john stones 1 - Moderator
Done a little more to it, been working and flying so I've slowed up on build. Put the upright's into fuzz, when dry I can fit cross braces, also recut wingseat I filled in . Cut some liteply discs for wheels then gave a light sand, holes for reducing weight to do once glued together, then bush centres and source something for tyres. I am moving tail skid back to upright behind tailplane leading edge and making it lighter. Glue wing together later, then I can start top deck tomorrow. Masking tape on sheet joints, see if I can avoid staining problem. John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Wing joined, a quick look, its tiny Cross bracing added, tricky little job, looks nice though, formers to add today and sheet top. Electrics be here tomorrow I hope John

john stones 1 - Moderator
Nowt to finish Gary. Bit of covering and some staining, fitting gubbins I don't mind, it means it'll soon be flying Have made 3 models for less than £50, (excluding electrics) Nieuport cost £80 for covering Big stuffs good but I needed some variety to get fun back. Colin Leighfield
It's all about practice. Mind you, I started in 1956 and still can't get it right! Now I'm having nightmares about rivets, perhaps I'll try something less punishing instead, like self flaggelation. (Ouch)!

john stones 1 - Moderator
Top formers and longerons in, give it an hour then I can sheet it. Wing braces fitted, a small spruce spar added at the rear spar, main brace (nautical term) made out of 2 x1/16 birch ply laminates. I get exuberant so I play it safe. john stones 1 - Moderator
Posties been so I can make some progress now I fitted wrong size captive nuts to fuzz...bolts won't go through mount and not enough on em to drill out Make some out of ali sheet....idiot....very surprised at size of motor and esc, only used the small Turnigy ones so. far. Look to be O.K. though, I can get nose finished now then sheet the rest. These motors O.K ? John
Gary Manuel
I didn't expect the motor to be as big as that. Looks more like a can of pop.
