Ian Laing
In the American RCModeller magazine (11-1973), George Chabot published a plan for the Kwik Stick, a quick build, skeleton type fuselage, normal wing model aircraft for .15 Glow Motor.>> I built the model, and for a long time it was my favourite aerobatic sport aircraft. One day as was want, the earth did rise up and smite my baby into many fragments. She was dearly missed!>> Come 2014 and I, in my dotage, now want to build another Kwik Stick. Along with other South African modellers, my model library and old kits and planes were donated to the Albertinia Flying models club with the idea that this would one day be the @eaze RCModellers Museum of South Africa.>> After that rambling start I will get down to what I want and need - a scan or plan in the magazine or a copy of the original Kwik Stick.>> A problem has come up with getting a copy. You are not allowed to copy a published plan if it is commercially available. The defunct American RCModeller does offer the plan on the internet for $16. I have been trying for years to get a response from them, occasionally someone will answer the 'phone and then disappear, I imagine the plan service is or was an attempt to make money, but the effort got unwieldy and is now in limbo. The bottom line is that the plan or thumb nail is not available anywhere and so sending an e-mail .jpg of the plan should now be legal>> Regards,>> Ian>>

TigerOC
Hi Ian, Suggestion; das liddle stick plans are available from outerzone. I am just completing a build of a modified one with GRP fuselage and foam core wing. You should have no real difficulty in converting the plan to a skeleton type fuselage using these plans. I use graphics programs to extract the parts and then convert them to what I want. The liddle stick is 46" and intended for .19 - .30 engines but built light (as you intend) would take a .15 I also recently scratch built a glider from the '90's also converted to grp and foam core wing and it flies wonderfully. kc
On RC Universe there is a man who scans RCM articles by request see **LINK** you may be able to get a copy of the article that way RC Modeler articles gave very clear plans in the magazine which should enlarge OK when scanned as a pdf. Note also that RCM Plans seems to have failed to have delivered to many people who paid for plans, and there is plenty of information about this on RC Universe
Ian Laing
American RCModeller - Kwik Stick - Plan 543a Please, someone send me a thumbnail .jpg of the above plan. Regards, Ian
J Moyler
I have had a look at this and I think that the Balsa USA did a kit of this plane called a Swizzle Stick (then called stick40). If you do a google search on Swizzle Stick a few threads and pictures should appear from RCGroups (Ezonemag). I have been to the main Balsa USA site and the plan is still listed at15.75USD. I hope you find this helpfull. JM

kc
The link to the Kwik Stick plan is the RCM Plans one that many people complain about due to lack of delivery. Check before you order! Edited By kc on 10/06/2014 11:01:
Ian Laing
Thanks K.C., I had been warned and that is why I have tried a general appeal. I was told that one of the members had the whole of RCM scanned and was helping modellers who needed RCM information. I have heard nothing more from this potential source . . . J Moyler
Thank you for pointing that out KC, I should have done it myself. I just put the link there to show what the requested plan was. The link with plan that you want is the Stick Plans - This is the Balsa USA plan. JM

Alve Hansson
Posted by Dai Fledermaus on 10/12/2014 20:26:32: For anyone else who is interested, the plan for Quick Stick is now available here :- LINK I have a wing for the Great Planes Big Stik 60 and was thinking of building a Kwik Stick 1. The drawing says "cut wing saddle with 0 ° incidence", can this be correct? I think the wing must have a positive angle of attack. What do you think?
