Nev
That's pretty productive faffing, you trying to get to get finished for Christmas. Or are you wanting to leave plenty of time for a full rivet finish That box looks to stick out a long way but I suppose there's no reason it want be as strong a bearers. Nev. john stones 1 - Moderator
Thanks lads Not glued in yet Nev and it do's need shortening a bit John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Loads of little bits done but nowt worth showing, my wings lined up ready to drill for the front dowels (2 at front one rear bolt) now to make sure the wing seat is o.k before I drill it. Don't worry about the little gap at rear of wing/fuzz there is a little ply doodah to fit John
Terry Walters
Thanks for the pics John - great help to understand what's going on down there! Terry
john stones 1 - Moderator
That bits easy enough lads it's just more faffing to get a nice fit John
john stones 1 - Moderator
So how much have I done on my drone sorry Chippie Not a lot, I have been completely flummoxed I cannot get the wing pushrods to a point where I am happy with them (my form of o.c.d.) so I binned the b/cranks and sheeted top of wing before I changed my mind again. So it's servos in the wings. Fitted an extra rib in flap/aileron to give a new horn point John
Nev
I've gone for servos in the wings as well john, although I'm not sure that makes it any easier. Its all a bit tight for space in there, i think its going to work out but not as far on as you.
john stones 1 - Moderator
I had no external adjust and the new horn will be lower Nev so I can get better access and pushrod geometry. Never mind differential etc will be simpler now John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Made a t/wheel up, I'm going with a fixed one, wire fits in a grove in the balsa block and a ply face was added to strengthen....it's not heavy before I glue it in I will glass a piece of l/weight cloth inside the end of fuzz for a little strength. john stones 1 - Moderator
Fitted shrouds to the wing now I've stopped fffffaffing about 1/64 ply with 1/32balsa laminate so I can sand them in. John
Nev
I take it the t/wheel block fits flat to the floor in the last bay. You recon a fixed tail wheel is ok on grass. Loving the green card
john stones 1 - Moderator
Yes Nev, no different to a skid and tail will soon be off floor anyway, if you pop down to Donny i'll let you have a bit of green card John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Well my wings done (servos to fit). When I first looked at the plan I thought oooh I don't like that Now i'm tickled pink with it, thanks for keeping me motivated fellas John
Colin Leighfield
Looks great John. I've ordered four thin wing servos for the flaps and ailerons. Edited By Colin Leighfield on 15/12/2014 20:35:

john stones 1 - Moderator
Been a while since I posted on this, but I've been doing bits, I fitted two dowels to the wing l/e and as Danny pointed out early on you can't get a tidy gap...so i'm gonna angle the rear of wing and facing plate on the fuzz fairing, I've used this method before and it works o.k. Nigel Day
Hmm, looks as though this might be useful John. I'm looking forward to seeing all the details.

john stones 1 - Moderator
Bit of progress, I tend to slow up when I get to the fiddly bits...so need to get them all out the way and get on with it Engine /tank box sorted, I took it back to F4 it adds plenty strength and makes the wing dowel former (F3) more secure, will cut some lightening holes in before gluing.
